A free open source Java application created to help you apply watermarks to your pictures in order to protect them from unauthorized distribution. Different font, color, size and transparency texts or images can be added as a watermark. Batch processing is also provided.

ImageJ2x is medical image processing program inspired by NIH Image for the Macintosh. It can display, edit, analyze, process, save and print 8-bit, 16-bit and 32-bit images. There can be many image formats including TIFF, GIF, JPEG, BMP, DICOM, PNG, FITS and "raw" and ... Read and supports "stacks" (stack), a series of images that share a single window. The program supports simultaneous that number of windows (images), limited only by available memory. It is multithreaded, so that time-consuming operations such as reading lists in parallel with other operations are performed. It can calculate area and pixel value statistics of user-defined selection. It can measure distances and angles. It can record density histograms and line profiles. It supports standard image processing functions such as contrast manipulation, sharpening, smoothing, edge detection and filtering it through all kinds of geometric transformations such as Zoom in / out and rotation. SIET, the Simple Image Editing ( Editor ) Tool, is a simple-to-use, handy and free application for such tasks as resizing, cropping, retouching, watermarking, etc... Batch processing is also provided. Because is OS Independent, written in an interpreted language, SIET can run on any platform that has a java virtual machine available. Tested on: Windows 7, Windows XP, Linux Ubuntu, Linux Mint.

Bric is a cross-platform batch image processor. You can convert, resize, rotate and add watermark to your images. Multiple file types are supported for input and output. The project started back in 2011 and was maintained for a couple of years. In 2020 BRIC is again in active development, so some of the features written below might be outdated. This program automatically adds tags to your pictures on flickr.com. First it computes the tags by image processing, then the user can choose which tags he wants to add to a certain picture.

Bildster is an image processing library for educational purposes that provides tools for loading and manipulating (or creating) images. It provides a split screen view (before / after). It is a command line application to which you can pass a color, and the application transforms the input images to that color scale image (as if it was a gray scale, but instead of gray, that color). In addition, the application allows you to set the global alpha of the image, and translate a particular color to a totally transparent alpha (alpha = 0). You can also disable alpha component, just in case the input image is a .jpg, or there is any restriction that makes the output image from being saved successfully. If you do not know the color code, you can pass a color: -color input and the application will let you move the mouse on the screen, and when you press return, the color of the mouse pointer will be picked. (This does not work properly in certain environments, but you can always move the mouse over your color before launching the application).
