I got every virus imaginable from this link! Also I'm on Linux, so it's
doubly bad.

Something tells me your posts don't have to do with jMax or SPARC or
anything useful at all!

Ok, somehow a new installation solved my problem, maybe setting a path for fts.exe solved it, i dunno

Still can't configure the whole thing, I guess portaudio will help, but not today... ANYONE here?

tools - but the conflicts you mention have bothered me a bit.

Is a jMax error message, that is not fatal and can be safely ignored; but the rest
seems to be some kind of mess interaction between jack, Alsa and portaudio, the portable
audio library that jMax use.

I googled around and there are a lot of reports of problems with the same printout, but
i have not identified a cause yet, other than using portaudio.

Portaudio is very cool in development because you write less code, but many things are hided and if something go wrong you do not really know why; i am thinking to move back to write separate code for alsa and jack, more work but more manageable ...

I'll do some tests in the next few days, but i am afraid it will take some time ..

I believe they won't come out as a list, but 1-by-1 as I do something 
like the copy trick for objc that I mentioned, revealing the next 
missing library. And I really don't think this is a good path to follow. 
I need to study CVS procedure and try to compile the source code.

In particular, you should have installed the following packages: portaudio, audiofile, the latest OpenJDK Runtime Environment, portmidi, and the latest Objective-C runtime.

Which other dependencies are not satisfied ? Can you send the output to the list ?

I uploaded a jmax release archive to sourceforge compiled (and roughly tested) under fedora 14, in the 0.7 directory.

I included a "fc14" segment in the file name to make possible to reconise it :->

Let me know if this fix the problems.

Next, tests on Linux mint :->

be not easy to configure yet, i need to work on the 
configuration user interfaces ..

I'm working from jmax.Linux.amd64.r350.tgz listed as, and apperently 
most recent.
