I installed per the directions and can chat as a guest user no problem, however I cannot log-in as ANY of the default users (most importantly the operator), It just refreshes the log in screen.
I also cannot create a new user. No matter what I enter it says the name already exists.
If you log in with one of those names it enters the chat but leaves the user field completely blank.
system:
OS - Cobalt Linux 6.0
Apache - 1.3.12
PHP - 4.3.2-RC1
mySQL - 3.23.49
Register Globals is ON
My website (http://www.racingnationonline.com) is completely database driven and functions 100% correctly, but I cannot figure this bug out myself.

Hi,
I setup the latest build on a WinXP PC with Apache 1.3.7, PHP
4.3.2, MySQL 3.23 - everything installed okay and the default
page fired up.
I got exactly the same problem, for some reason I cannot
login in as a user but I can enter as a guest, the admin
function does not work or appears to be incomplete - to test
this I opened the /admin/index.php page and commented out
the line that reads:
//check if chatter is authorized to get this page
if( !isset($_SESSION['chatter']) )
{
header('Status: 301');
header('Location: ../index.php?forceOnTop=1');
exit;
}
Then I browsed to /admin/index.php and the so called admin
page appeared.
Is PHPOpenChat incomplete or something? I uploaded and
tested on a Unix server with everything installed (full reseller
account) and exactly the same problem...
Good luck, I might have to settle for a different PHP chat
application...
