X2CRM is a next-generation, open source social sales application for small and medium sized businesses. X2CRM was designed to streamline contact and sales actions into one compact blog-style user interface. Add to this contact and colleague social feeds and sales representatives become smarter and more effective resulting in increased sales and higher customer satisfaction. X2CRM is unique in the crowded Customer Relationship Management (CRM) field with its compact blog-style user interface. Interactive and collaborative tools which users are already familiar with from social networking sites such as tagging, pictures, docs, web pages, group chat, discussions boards and rich mobile and tablet apps are combined within a compact and fast contact sales management application. Reps are able to make more sales contacts while leveraging the combined social intelligence of peers enabling them to add more value to their customer interactions resulting in higher close rates. System Requirements A web server that can execute PHP A password-protected MySQL database server connection, and a database on which the user of the connection has full permissions rights (i.e. SELECT, DROP, CREATE and UPDATE) PHP 5.3 or later PHP must be run as the same system user that owns the directory where X2CRM will be installed The server must have internet access for automatic updates The server must be publicly accessible for web lead capture, service requests and email tracking to work X2CRM comes with a requirements check script, "requirements.php", which you can upload by itself to your server. Simply visit the script in your browser to see if your server will run X2CRM. Installation Upload X2Engine to the web directory of your choice. Be sure to set your FTP client to use binary mode. Create a new MySQL database for X2Engine to use Browse to the x2engine folder and you will be redirected to the installer. Fill out the form, click install, and that's it! You are now ready to use X2Engine. If you chose to install Dummy Data, you will have about 1100 contacts, 125 actions, and 30 accounts to play with. Creating the Action Reminder Cronjob As we don't have access to your server, you'll need to create a cronjob to make the server send out action reminders. You can either do this on your own server or use a free service on the internet to run it for you. All you need to do is have the cronjob access the url once a day to send out action reminders: http://www.[yourserver].com/[path to x2engine]/actions/sendReminder Languages Most of the included language packs were produced by copy/paste from Google Translate and copy/paste. If you have any corrections, suggestions or custom language packs, please feel free to post them on www.x2community.com We greatly appreciate your input for internationalization! Tips and Tricks X2CRM is designed to be intuitive, but we have included a few tips and tricks to get you started! To change the background color, menu color, language or any other setting, click on Profile in the top right and select 'Settings'. The admin's settings can be found from the admin page, as well as a variety of other tools to help you manage the application. Contacts are ordered by most recently updated by default, but this can be changed by clicking on one of the other attributes to sort them differently. It is not recommended to use the Import Data function on the admin tab UNLESS you are importing data that was exported from a prior version. The template is very finnicky and prone to bugs, so if you do it without using properly exported data, we take no responsibility for errors. Known Issues The .htaccess file may cause issues on some servers. If you get a 500 Internal Server Error when you try to load the installer, delete the .htaccess file (the application will still work without it.)

The latest edition of the company’s open source CRM and process management system includes an all new pipeline view. This is a completely new way to visualize sales and marketing processes in X2CRM. The new pipeline view, the company says, makes it easier for users to convert records from Lead to Customer, from Prospect to Partner. X2Flow Process Integration: Automate Business Work Flow Stages X2CRM 4.1 sees the introduction of Process stages as both triggers and flow actions in the X2Flow business automation system. Automated CRM processes will be a big boon to improving efficiency for sales, marketing, and service departments. Process stage status changes are now available as triggers to set off a series of required actions assigned to sales teams, for example. Or users can set X2Flow actions to update process stages and escalate it to customer service department teams. As with everything in X2Flow, the power of CRM automation is vast and open to countless variations. Leads module: Pursue Potential Deals X2CRMe 4.1 includes an entirely new module: Leads. This module allows users to include basic contact and account information before the lead becomes a legitimate potential sale. When it becomes appropriate, leads can be converted into a sales opportunity, providing the avenue for clear and useful documentation of moving a lead through the sales pipeline process. X2CRM’s 2nd generation REST-ful API: An HTTP-based API with numerous improvements The application programming interface (API) in X2Engine v4.1 has been redesigned and overhauled to produce a better and more capable system of communicating with third party software. This new REST-ful API (the most common protocol on the web) standardizes X2CRM fields and makes it easier to connect to apps like Zapier. Activity Feed email summary digest: The news of the day in an email inbox The activity feed on a user’s profile page shows a lot of information. Calendar events, new leads, contact web activity, email correspondence, and much more. In X2CRM 4.1 users can have this information sent directly to their inboxes. Each user has the ability to create an automated email summary of the day’s events, selecting which stories they would like to hear about, and have it periodically sent out on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. The company says this email digest will help users absorb a greater wealth of information related to the daily operations of their business. X2Identity 2.0 Web Tracking and Browser Fingerprinting X2CRM’s traditional web tracker uses cookie-based web tracking code, installed by a contact submitting a web form or clicking a tracking link. X2Identity uses in-house developed browser fingerprinting as a supplement and alternative method to the cookie-based web tracker. Browser fingerprinting is based on certain browser settings and attributes that make them unique. If browser fingerprinting is enabled, the tracker will attempt to identify a contact based on their browser settings. X2Identity will create a list of matched browser fingerprints, allowing the tracking and management of contacts who have not submitted a web form. Additionally, X2Identity provides access to a list of anonymous contacts. Anonymous contacts are created upon submission of a newsletter form, or when a user who has not yet been associated with a browser fingerprint visits a page embedded with the web tracker. Once these anonymous contacts submit the web lead form, their lead score and activity history will be migrated over to an ordinary contact record. See: http://www.x2crm.com Demo: http://demo.x2crm.com X2CRM v5.0 Features and Upgrades Integrated Email Client An integrated ​Email Client awaits users of 5.0, doing away with the necessity of switching back and forth between your email inbox and your CRM. This feature will be an expansion upon the one-way email correspondence previously available, offering shared outboxes and inboxes – particularly useful for shared email accounts like support or newsletter addresses. This new integrated email client will supersede the email dropbox functionality of previous X2Engine versions. UI Facelift X2CRM 5.0 knows how to make an Entrance. From the first sight of the login screen, the new theme capabilities make an impression. Our new profile theme tools make it more intuitive than ever to revamp the look of your CRM and help it fit into your branding identity. Play with the theme settings in your user preferences, found by clicking your username up in the top right corner. Importer 3.0 Getting up and running with a new CRM can be a challenge. When beginning to use a new system, you want to have your own data in there so you can start using the system! The update to version 5.0 will include an overhauled, intelligent record ​importer ​with automatic field detection. And, if you’re migrating from another CRM, you can use our new pre-built field map. Just select your previous CRM and all the fields of your .csv file exported from that system will be pre-mapped to their corresponding X2Engine field names. Enhanced Reporting Reporting in X2Engine will be re​vamped for this release. Module Deep Rename The ability to rename modules has always existed in X2Engine, but thus far, the ability has remained superficial. However, with v5.0 we are introducing deep renaming of modules, with all references to the module being fully replaced with your custom name, including in actionable events, dropdown menus, and relationships. ​​ X2Graph Relationship Visualizer Visualize and analyze your CRM data like never before. The new interactive relationship graph provides the insight and understanding that only a visual graph can provide. Sort and select relationships to single out and display, filter based on relationship types, or create new relationships on the fly. Give your sales force the insight to see who is who within an organization. ​​​Duplicate remover and Record Merge Another pesky issue for CRM users is the issue of duplicate records. X2Engine v5.0 will introduce an enhanced duplicate record checker to identify and remove duplicate contacts, accounts, and more. Additionally, this release will feature a merge tool, allowing you to pick and choose details from multiple records and merge them into a single record, including call logs, emails, interaction history, relationships, and more. ​Advanced Security Tools Administrators already have complete control over their users’ level of record access, permissions to edit or update data, and group memberships.
