Any artists interested in drawing Silksong Fanart to help Immigrants?
Okay I've been pretty nervous to make this post because I've never organized anything like this before but.
Hello! I'm Silver or Crow, and I live in the normally really nice state of Minnesota. Im sure you all know what's going on here by now. I live in the suburbs, but theres still been a lot of ICE activity in my town, and I've been feeling helpless and overwhelmed. I want to do something to help, but I live too far from the main On The Ground action, work a full time job, and don't have much money.
However I've been talking with friends about some ideas, and I want to try and organize/make a fanzine project to motivate/encourage people to donate to charities and organizations that are doing on the ground and legal aid for those affected.
The idea is this.
- We make zine - the theme my friends and I decided on was Silksong pairings (can be shipping or just friendships) but could be anything really, its all just a bunch of art that wont be available anywhere else. Small fic/creative writing and other things could be included too
- We promote zine
- People can recieve zine by donating to orgs and charities* and showing us a receipt or screenshot of proof of donation (No identifying information required)
- We send them Zine - It would be completely digital, probably a PDF
- They enjoy art, charities get support
The idea is that I or any other artists involved never actually have to handle money as a third party, I want the money to go Directly to where it's needed, no stress, no mess. The hope is to incentivize people who may not donate otherwise to donate as a means of essentially 'buying' a product they may be interested in. And hopefully some people will be interested in a collection of original fanart of their favorite characters not available elsewhere online.
*Ive been looking into charities and such myself and have a list of the big/major names doing good work right now. People would be able to donate to any charity supporting the cause, but we could provide a list of suggestions for those who don't really know where to look/start. Every group from major statewide orgs to smaller mutual aid funds need help right now
It feels a little silly on the surface, but I want to do whatever I can to aid my neighbors under siege.
The problem is this. I am too small of an artist to pull this off on my own. Not to mention, the time needed for a single artist to make a product of this kind would take far too long.
If you are at all interested in this idea/project, Please reach out me - op @Sashasylvaart via DMs. If you have any experience organizing or being a part of a project like this in the past as well, I would LOVE to hear from you! You do not have to be from Minnesota! I can't do this alone, and the more artists who participate, the more reach this will get. This is still in the ideation phase, and it honestly feels both overwhelming and almost pointless before I've even begun, but I refuse to let those feelings win out. I know that by making this post I am committing to this idea. If you have suggestions or ideas as well please don't hesitate to share!
Once I have a better idea of the scale/scope of this project based on the amount of interest, more details about the theme, timeline and structure will be hammered out among those participating.
My dream is that this is successful and I can continue projects like this for different themes for aid as long as needed, including in other affected states, but that's definetly putting the cart before the horse there.

Hi! The city of Gainesville, Florida is one of the worst places in America to be homeless, but the good news is that it's also in the middle of an apocalyptic housing crisis. Large swaths of the city, including its remaining Black neighborhoods, are food deserts. The Gainesville Free Grocery Store distributes free food to the hungry and needy on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at the Civic Media Center at 433 South Main Street downtown, and they help a lot of people and are saving lives. They could use support!

Donating Food
As of November 2025, we can accept food donations at Working Food (219 NW 10th Ave. Gainesville, FL) on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10a-2p. If you have a larger donation you’d like to make but cannot come during those times, please email us to coordinate an alternate drop-off time.
You can also donate food on the same day as our food pantries at the Civic Media Center (433 S. Main St.) as early as 12 pm. On good weather days, you can drop off food in the courtyard, but please text us if you’ve left food so that we know and can bring it inside.
Guidelines for what we can and prefer to accept are as follows:
- Packaged food – Must be unopened and unexpired
- Canned proteins (beans, tuna, chicken)
- Grains (rice, pasta, flour, cornmeal)
- Shelf-stable milks
- Oils (vegetable, olive, etc.)
- Snacks (crackers, gummies, applesauce)
- Ground coffee
- Baby food
- We always appreciate gluten-free products and vegan substitutes!
- Fruits and vegetables
- Must not be moldy or severely damaged
- We welcome farm or garden-fresh vegetables!
- Eggs
- We cannot accept farm-fresh eggs due to food safety guidelines
- Prepared food
- We cannot accept fresh/homemade prepared food

Giving Money
Recurring donations help us create stability for people experiencing food insecurity. Recurring donations help us transform from charity and towards solidarity. $10 pays for a week of groceries for 5 families. $50 pays for a little more than a month for the same 5 families.
