@1gengar

he/him i post stuff here when my friends take too long to reply to me lmao (i still love you guys though) i draw for fun

everyone jokes about Gardevoir trainers being horny freaks but I think Gardevoir trainers would actually be posting like irl doll collectors

They’d be posting ”An exquisite day for a most elegant lady” and then a picture of the cutest tea party you have ever seen for a Gardevoir wearing a lovely little hat

the real horny freaks would be posting shit like “go my loyal minions” and then a video of them siccing 6 Galarian zigzagoon on a dumpster

These tags are too good to be transitory

There are a fair amount of depictions of Cresselia and Darkrai as rivals, but to be honest I feel like that angle is kind of boring from a character perspective, as it just falls into the standard "evil creature is always evil and good creature is always good" trope.

Conversely, the other way to depict them is as allies, which is a more interesting take. Darkrai (at least in the mainline games' continuity) does not want to hurt anyone. It makes sense that, while it might be envious of Cresselia, it would also be grateful that her abilities work as a hard counter to its own.

However, while there isn't any real basis for this, I like to take it a step further and think of the two as being hard counters to each other. Cresselia's good dreams are wonderful, and help to ensure deep REM sleep—so deep, in fact, that it can accidentally overdo it and lull people into a borderline comatose state by giving them dreams so good they don't want to wake up. The fix? Darkrai showing up and inducing nightmares in order to force the person awake.

This creates a more ying-and-yang dynamic between the two. Cresselia balances Darkrai; Darkrai balances Cresselia. You can't have the night sky without the moon; you can't have the moon without the night sky. Does this make sense to anyone else or do I just sound insane

Quick speedpaint. WIP screenshots so people don’t claim this is AI under the cut:

ohhh my chaosssss tumblr is so lameeee :/// i can't joke with anything in here without being flagged by the auto mod. I'm moving to bluesky i swear to Caine.

Paper Doll Kaito :P

soooooo, guess who's good at drawing, moderately bad with needles, and has just spent a lot more thread than necessary with a paper doll articulation test?

I'm glad i did this test first because while it is acceptable, a few things did go wrong. the articulation is a bit stiff compared to the wobbly reference i had in mind, but that's ok. he's just gonna be a posable boy.

my PAPER DOLL KAITO post got flagged as mature content I'm so pissed rn

The Childhood Friends team up baking birthday cakes, a trilogy:

Senku and Taiju: Taiju keeps Senku from going down the chemistry rabbithole that is food science and they manage to put together an endearingly clumsy looking but fairly tasty mess of pink with Yuzuriha’s name haphazardly scrawled with white icing on top and a smiley face. The candles are having a hard time staying upright.

Taiju and Yuzuriha: Disaster narrowly avoided by Yuzuriha’s good sense not to combine every flavoring that was on sale at the store the way Taiju suggested since he couldn’t make up his mind on what would be the best for Senku. A pretty looking cake with perfectly frosted edges and decent taste, though perhaps a little overly sweet and dry.

Yuzuriha and Senku: Every inch of Byakuya’s kitchen is covered with diagrams and books. The cake has six tiers of various shapes, some floating on pillars, and little marzipan figurines staging an elaborate diorama of Taiju’s favorite movie. Senku figured out how to add a light show. It’s over three feet tall. It is delicious.

The Childhood Friends Trio ™ Watching Movies:

Senku: instead of the expected calling out every scientific inaccuracy in movies (regardless of whether it’s science fiction), Senku has a pretty big appreciation for special effects and scientific accuracies in movies. If Taiju and Yuzuriha are in the mood to hear their best friend pause the film every ten minutes to ramble for half an hour, they google “movies with lots of pyrotechnics”

Yuzuriha: Loves historical dramas/fantasy type shows with elaborate costuming and set design and can usually just sit back and enjoy them without interruption, though if she gets a Look in her eyes Senku and Taiju can expect her to spend the next few days talking nonstop about a perfect costume recreation that she’s hard at work perfecting.

Taiju: Likes animated movies and has a tendency to get really invested in the characters and their struggles, cheering them on loudly and getting really teary and emotional when anything remotely heartfelt happens. Character deaths hit him really hard because he always hopes that everyone can make it out okay, and extra tissue boxes are always pre-procured.

Does it make anyone else emotional that the flag for the Kingdom of Science is the scarf that Yuzuriha made for Senku just after she and Taiju brought him back from being dead and that he raised in victory as a farewell knowing that they wouldn’t see each other for weeks and months because it sure does for me

Do you think since Senku keeps bird statues in his bag all the time he gets attached to them? Like after he revives them he would like train them and stuff? I’m imagining the end of stone wars like “Marie, Albert, sic!” And Hyoga gets pecked in the face.

Avatar

I’m not entirely sure why Senku held onto some of the bird statues if he already figured out the revival formula (maybe he just felt bad for the birds and kept them so that they’d be safe until he had a good opportunity to dump fluid on the lot and set them free?) He doesn’t seem like the type to keep a bunch of pet birds, unless it’s for studying the effects of post-petrification.

That said the idea of Senku training an army of attack sparrows is absolutely hilarious and the little guys being named after scientists is the cherry on top. I wish I had art skills so I could draw all the antagonists getting bowled over by a storm of feathers lmao.

Hmm, though maybe the sparrows would get attached to Senku? Like a few of them start following him around after he sets them free and he’s like “hmm” and doesn’t think much of it, and he eventually starts talking to them and leaving a bit of grain out for them? Just chilling.

Ok now I’m imagining if crows were the ones that got petrified instead of sparrows. Can you imagine? Senku with an army of crows?

Anyway in honor of  z=194 breaking my heart, here’s some more clowning on Xeno. This guy’s been on turned down as an evil mentor three times on-screen

-

Xeno: Hey Chrome, you’re really smart. Don’t you think the intelligent should rule over the dumb masses?

Chrome: With all due disrespect, no. I love and support my jock friends.

 -

Xeno: Hey Dr. Chelsea, wanna join my evil club and not get shot by my angry boyfriend?

Chelsea: No-kay, Boomer :3

-

Xeno: ‘hands Senku an application for Evil-Scientific Mentor’

Senku: ‘crosses out the word Evil, signs it, and hands it back’
