We don’t know what information Google may share with law enforcement (voluntarily or otherwise), and recent history gives very little reason for confidence there. Especially from Google products, whose leadership have implicitly (and explicitly) supported the administration.
There are safer options out there. Look for services that minimize data collection, host servers in jurisdictions with robust privacy laws (e.g., the EU), and are explicit about not surveilling your documents.
If you’re sharing sensitive information, protect it using privacy-focused tools—ideally ones that store data outside the U.S. and operate under strong data-protection laws.

As always—remember to use secure communication tools (like Signal, Proton, etc.; not Meta’s WhatsApp etc. etc.), good digital hygiene, and a big dose of caution.

I fully recognize the fact that many Venezuelans are happy about Maduro being gone, and it makes sense, he was a dictator that did a lot of harm to a lot of people.
But I also know that US intervention in South and Central America has almost never gone well. This was for oil, Trump said it himself. He also said we would “run the country” until a judicial transfer of power could take place. I don’t think that’s going to happen. The US has never cared about dictatorships across the world, in fact we have overturned democratically elected leaders and put dictators in to power just to secure oil.
I’m glad Maduro is gone, and I’m happy for the Venezuelan people about that, but im worried about the precedent this sets, and the way it was done, we bombed their capital city for gods sake. Trump has already said he wants to take Greenland and Panama and the US has never had a good track record with meddling in foreign affairs.
I hope this ends well for the people in Venezuela, and I hope that this truly is freedom from a dictatorship for them, but I fear it won’t be.
