Backstory:
Riven is a Femm Bot born on Cybertron approximately 30 cycles before Orion Pax, D16, Elita One, and B-127. She lived during the authoritarian regime of Sentinel Prime in Iacon, a time marked by oppression and inequality. Like many others, she had her transformation gear forcibly removed and was condemned to work in the energon mines. Although not physically strong, she stood out for her intelligence, creativity, and technological skills. Curious and inventive, Riven often snuck away from the mines to build her own devicesโwhether practical or experimentalโalways pushing her limits and eager to learn something new.
Over time, she was transferred to a more isolated underground sector in Iacon, where she was tasked with monitoring life-support systems and communication networks. She spent most of her time alone in the control room, with little to no contact with other botsโneither through video calls nor in person. This isolation, combined with the constant oppression from her superiors, led her into a state of silent depression. To preserve her sanity, she frequently escaped into excessive daydreaming, trying to ease her mental stress. However, this eventually triggered symptoms of derealization (a feeling that the world around her was unreal or distant) and depersonalization (a sense of being disconnected from herself, as if observing her own body or mind from the outside), which deeply changed her.
Even after Sentinel Prime was exposed as a traitor and ally of the Quintessonsโand Optimus Prime rose as the new leader, transforming Cybertron into a better placeโRiven couldnโt recover. Although she finally received her transformation gear and her freedom, she no longer knew how to connect with others. Like B-127, she struggled to fit in, but unlike himโwho was cheerful and talkativeโRiven was serious, introspective, pessimistic, and even melancholic. This made her even more isolated, as other bots tended to avoid her.
Realizing she couldnโt live a normal life in Iacon, Riven chose to leave on her own terms. She journeyed to the surface, and upon seeing the stars for the first time, she was awestruck. That moment awakened a deep, insatiable desire within her: to explore space. Determined, she set a new goalโto build (or acquire) a ship and venture among the stars.
She found a subterranean cave where she built her own laboratory and devoted herself to her inventions. From time to time, she still returns to Iacon to acquire supplies and energon, ensuring everything in her lab continues to function. To stay informed, she observes the Autobots from afar, always alert to any potential threatsโwhether from the Quintessons, the Decepticons, or any other looming dangerโand how the Autobots respond to them.
