If you had to learn what the F keys on your computer do through me reblogging this post, then I'm glad you did. Computer literacy is not a skill that gets taught anymore, and it is absolutely one that needs to be taught in order to be learned. Don't ever feel bad for not knowing something, but ☝️ don't ever stop learning learning about your environment, the tools you use, and especially the people around you

For me accidentally pressing F1 is Not Good because it either puts a popup in my face mid-game (typically in the middle of combat because of my keybinds) or opens a new tab that I’ll lose my mind if I don’t close but my dumbass ADHD brain never has less than 50 tabs open at a time (right now it’s at 97). Just a minor inconvenience though.

But yes! Computer knowledge good! In fact I think all students should consider taking computer science classes at some point because there are some things that are so simple but so important and useful you can learn there. Even if you’re already good with computers! I was the Tech Support Student for most of my teachers, but I still learned quite a bit from my seventh grade computer science elective, and from then on I’ve been taking some kind of relevant class every year. There’s a lot to learn!

Today I made the incredible discovery that my local Walmart sells black forest cake. I love black forest cake. More than tiramisu, more than icecream cake with chocolate and caramel. So you can probably guess what my dessert funds (a portion of my Christmas money I’ve dedicated to sweets, I don’t have any source of income) will be going into for awhile. Of course, it’ll never be my great grandma’s black forest cake, haha.

My great grandmother was born and raised in Germany. She used to make cakes for a living, I think, and she knows how to make black forest cake from scratch. She made one for my graduation party last summer and god, let me tell you, it was one of the best things I’d had all year. I feel like most people never really get the chance to have a homemade black forest cake, made from the heart, done right, and that honestly makes me kind of sad, because it’s just so wonderful and I wish other people could experience it too. My great grandma’s in her 90s now, but she still works hard to make things like this (she also makes goulash and her goulash is also one of my favorite things in the world and when she makes it I will never pass up the chance to have some) because she knows it makes her family happy. Even if other people in the world will never be able to have my great grandma’s black forest cake and goulash, and hear her stories (she used to ride a motorcycle!), I hope they have something like this in their own families.

Sorry for yapping about cake, I’m sleepy and got a bit emotional, but yknow, not everyone is fortunate enough to be able to talk about nice things in their family, or heritage they’re proud of, or relatives they love a lot, and I wanna take a moment to express my appreciation for being one of those who can.

hug your grandmas guys or give them a call to tell them you love them I’m sure they’ll appreciate it I hope someday I can learn my family’s recipes having a family recipe book would be cool also considering pitching the familytale concept from isat to my folks because that’d be pretty neat yknow? I know they’ve all got stories to tell and it’d be nice if those stories could continue to be told even long after they’re gone generations and generations down the line

Have had some people that I assume follow me for my Silksong art ask what Rain World is after posting stuff about it, so I’m here to say if you liked the platforming and exploration of Silksong and you want a challenging game with a deep and interesting world to explore then you should play Rain World, blind if possible. It’s an absolutely gorgeous game that will make you want to tear your hair out with how difficult it is at times- the Downpour dlc is also incredible imo and it has co op, I haven’t played the watcher so I can’t say anything about that but I fully recommend giving at least the base game a try

And while I am here if you enjoyed the combat of Silksong, especially if you liked the cross stitch skill or the parry mechanic in general, and you want a super combat heavy game, then play Nine Sols. Absolutely gorgeous game with an amazing story and soundtrack, but the highlight is 100% the boss fights, I think the only Silksong boss that gave me the same amount of trouble as Nine Sols’ boss roster was the secret final boss

Two games I absolutely cannot recommend enough, especially if you enjoyed Hollow Knight and or Silksong 🙏
