Last post on the topic for now but another thing that really pisses me off about those stepparent forums is how many stepparents spend paragraphs talking about how much they hate their stepchild and then mention they’re trying for a baby with their spouse or are an abortable amount of weeks pregnant with their ‘ours’ baby. I get that you are not very bright as evidenced by your life decisions but you do understand your stepchild will be YOUR child’s sibling forever, right? Like, you do get it? Every Christmas, every holiday, they’ll have to collaborate with each other when their shared parent is in diapers, they’ll have to settle the estate together after their parent dies, they’ll have 2 of the same grandparents, the same aunts/uncles on one side. If your stepchild is really a 7 year old budding serial killer and the root of all evil in the world, why would you bring a child into this world as their sibling who will have to deal with them forever? If you don’t like the first set of kids your spouse made, why do you think they won’t fuck up this one?
As I gaze at the structural column in Copley Station, cracked nearly in two and held together with zip ties that have been carefully painted over to match the column underneath, I feel my soul intertwined with that of a small Italian boy of days gone by, who also stopped to look up at a large, groaning, newly painted tank full of molasses
I feel that some non-Boston people think I may have been exaggerating this. While I did not snap a photo as I was on the train, someone else did several months ago. I do want to stress that this column is now freshly painted and therefore completely structurally sound and in absolutely no danger of causing the entire tunnel to collapse. And yes, it did in fact never cross my mind that the original post was nearly 105 years to the day of the Molassacre
Happy Molassacre Day everybody I'm still alive
Because it's been a while, I must share with you the important update that the column is now hidden behind plywood, because the mbta believes in peekaboo rules of engineering
if I had a plasma pistol you wouldn't hear from me ever again. i would crouch behind highway guardrails and shoot fully charged shots at teslas passing by me
It’s ok to post this
