the fact that we know the real world in the show isnt animated in a different way but is instead ACTUALLY REAL frightens me.

i could be wrong but i dont see them getting actual actors to play the characters upon an escape. maybe they could keep it ambiguous somehow but.. this just makes me believe there is no escape for them. and if there is i doubt we will see much post-circus. You wanna know what I really love about this scene (aside from the glorious Abstragedy)? It's that it's the narrative's way of saying that all the hurt Jax is going through DOES NOT excuse him from the hurt he's chosen to inflict on Gangle, Zooble, and everyone else!

Like seriously, isn't it great that the show is smart enough to say that Gangle and Zooble are NOT IN THE WRONG for doing this, and that they're both not in the wrong for continuing to resent him for all of the awful things he's done to them both?!?!?!?!

Yeah, I know it's clear that Jax's behaviour was just him masking all of the pain that he himself was going through, but come on y'all, that doesn't change the fact that he still wasn't just simply mean and bitter, but actively cruel and malicious!!!!!

Like, remember how in the last episode Gangle was ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIED that Jax was going to do something terrible to her JUST BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T TEAM UP WITH HIM?!?!? EXACTLY!!!!!

I'll say it louder for those in the back: the hurt that a character endures does not automatically absolve them of the hurt they choose to inflict!

Imagine being named Bobby McDonald or some shit and then living so long that both “Bobby” and “McDonald” enter the public lexicon as naughty words until you are essentially named “Penis Homosexual” and kids are afraid to write it down
