Anonymous asked:

heyy bunjy can you tell us about your favourite things from the deeps?

bunjywunjy answered:

it varies depending on the day, but I’m a real fan of the stoplight loosejaw and the black swallower!

the stoplight loosejaw is a gamebreaking aimbot of a fish that has re-evolved the ability to see the color red, and emit red light, in a deep sea world where red light simply is a thing that does not exist because it’s filtered out of the water column close to the surface.

coincidentally, many deep-sea organism have evolved red pigment because it’s biologically easier cheaper than black pigment to produce and it appears black under the fragment of blue light that makes it from the surface anyway, so what’s the difference?

image

nothing, if you’re not being hunted by a guy with an invisible flashlight who can also see the color you actually are. whoops.

the black swallower is a wrangly vorefish with an expandable stomach that it can use to eat prey up to twice its length and ten times its own mass! if you fit in the mouth, you’re dinner, period.

This is a Junco account now 😌 Because I love them and there are so many right now. They are everywhere, and they like to sit in this spot when they line up to nibble peanut butter on the tree. I only added the camera there today, and I still need to adjust this setup a bit but they are so much fun to watch with their little puffy coats. This is why things are not perfectly in focus but that is also how you know I am AI-free. Come good into the new week and stay warm!
