I totally aced that

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

a few years ago it was “hehe haha what the fuck even is digital blackface why are yall so mad” now they’re using AI to make fake videos of angry black women trying to use their EBT cards in places that don’t accept it

update 11/1 - 🙃🙃🙃

the term digital blackface is believed to have been first coined by Joshua Lumpkin Green in 2006 and popularized by Lauren Michele Jackson in 2017. conversations around the evolution of minstrelsy, which always has been and always will be a tool of inciting antiblack violence, have been ongoing for decades. imagine if yall took this shit seriously back then instead of laughing it off as implausible like yall always do. people could very well lose their lives over this. but hehe haha terms like digital blackface and misogynoir just sounded too silly to be real right?

it's always a good day to complain about English speakers

Important addition: Maria Skłodowska-Curie was born during partitions, which means Poland didn’t exist, which means her insistence that she was Polish was a significant act of defiance against the occupation, which means that you should respect that instead of arguing that ‘well she had French citizenship’. She couldn’t have Polish citizenship despite being Polish, that’s kinda the point she was making by keeping her maiden name and naming a chemical element she discovered ‘Polonium’ .

HOW TO PRONOUNCE: Skłodowska

L with a dash through it (ł) makes a “W” sound. and W makes a “V” sound.

skwo-DOV-ska

thank you for the pronunciation guide!

“Well if we hold presidents accountable for war crimes then Clinton and Obama would be in jail”

Awesome. There’s plenty of stuff those guys need to answer for.

“Well if we expose the Epstein List, that will ALSO affec-“

There is not a single name you could put up there that would make me not want that list made public. You could tell me Mr Rogers was on that list and I would still want it out there. You could tell me my own grandmother was on the list (may she rest in peace) and I would still want the list out there.

I think if there is a name you would rather protect instead of achieving justice then you have some very serious soul searching to do because that world is dying and you are about to be left behind or eaten by it.

And then the 'Real' cops show up and arrest you for obstructing ICE. In what suburbanite liberal fantasy land is someone calling the cops to arrest another cop going to work?

You give them too much credit for unity and coordination. Whenever things take too long or seem like they'll be too much work, ICE just give up and try to find an easier target. It's not about the cops actually helping you, it's about making the gestapo wannabe think that the cops are gonna help you.

Also, given cops' tendency to shoot first ask questions never, it's not infrequent that they'll show up to a scene and just open fire on the military cosplayers. This isn't good for obvious reasons, but can provide an opportunity for you to get away.

Don't present these situations as hopeless- that's just doing free propaganda for the enemy. It's bad, but these fuckers are near-unanimously incompetent individualists barely capable of the teamwork required to lift a couch.

normally i am fully blackpilled on this blog about cops, so understand im not speaking from a white liberal never-been-arrested standpoint here: im actually inclined to agree that if you cant run or try any other tactics, calling the local pigs in to an ICE raid may not be a terrible idea, and is unlikely to make anything worse, and i will explain why in a readmore because its kind of boring

the abuse and humiliation Greta Thunberg is going through at the hands of the Israelis needs to be put in context with the dehumanising torture Palestinian prisoners are put through on the daily: the fact that darling Greta can be blindfolded and forced to crawl and kiss the Israeli flags - despite her international popularity and the protection her own government should guarantee her - is only possible because Israelis are allowed to beat, humiliate, starve and rape Palestinians to literal death without anyone stopping them.

being black in any art community is such a strange feeling cause you’ll see just blatant racism being expressed in others art and you have to just casually ignore it, for your sake if anything, colorism being something that’s just fundamentally there in every artist and you deal with it cause it’s not worth it in the end to even think of it too hard let alone even mentioning it, it’s definitely something

Hello nonblack reader of this post, I think you ought to share this one so that you and your peers can actively remind yourselves 1) of how your Black peers feel when you tolerate antiblack racism in your art spaces for entertainment and 2) that we notice it, but don't believe it is secure around enough of you to bring it up 🙏🏾

I live in Chicagoland and have family friends who are brown and undocumented. It’s not good here.

I want to specify that the US government ICE agents rapelled from Blackhawk helicopters to take over an apartment building, breaking open apartment doors in the middle of the night to drag barely-clad residents from their homes and detain everyone in UHaul trucks with the children zip-tied to each other. Regardless of citizenship.

There was too much traffic today, and an ICE agent deployed a tear gas canister in traffic in response.

This is not normal.

From the very bottom of my heart: what the ACTUAL FUCK

It’s not even near me yet, but where I live there’s lots of brown folks so they’ll come.

This is surreal. We’re being attacked by the United States.

Most mainstream media is barely covering it.

I genuinely wish I were surprised by that.

With my birthday coming up this month, there is only one thing I can ask for…

My friend Ahmed has been struggling under the Israeli occupation of Gaza for nearly 2 years. At the moment, he is living in a tent on the streets. His sister and her children are in the North, where it is especially dangerous.

Ahmed needs money urgently to support his family, who are stuck in a known danger zone. The best way to support him at this time is to donate and to share his fundraising campaign.

Please donate to the PayPal, as there are no fees associated with it and the money will be made available to Ahmed immediately.

A GoFundMe is available, but it will add significant fees and it will take longer to reach Ahmed.

Ahmed is verified by @90-ghost and has taken the extra steps to show multiple forms of personal identification information to me and to GFM representatives, who vetted him closely for the contents of his campaign.

His identity is verified by GFM and by confirmed Palestinian vetters.

🍂 90-ghost is a Palestinian blogger who tries to find and support legitimate campaigns.

🍂 Donations on Gofundme can be refunded for a Year so giving is low risk.

🍂 Donations on PayPal can be as low as 1$.

🍂 Donating and Sharing helps even more!

🍂 Shares help reach more donors.

🍂If you can, do Both. If not. STILL SHARE - It can help this reach someone who Can donate.

🍂There's always a way to help and no action is too small.

Feeling an incredibly weird specific nostalgia but what piece of media defined 2020 for you (as in you spent that year with it) mine is mtv's catfish

I watched, and/or at the very least, had Starkids Trail to Oregon playing in my earphones a minimum of once a day, and a maximum of four times a day during 2020

I performed this musical as a one man show in the kitchen as my family did their own thing with mild concern or confusion (my brother hyped me up for a bit, so slay there)
