Can you eat desiccant bags?

DESICCANT - SILICA GEL - " DO NOT EAT "
First off, you really need to know, it's not always actual silica gel pellets. the label is a generic lie like 2/3 of the time.
silica gel is relatively expensive. you most likely will find one of those materials:
the polymer bag. do not eat the bag. it tastes uninteresting and is a choking hazard. carefully cut it open instead.
Clay - just regular bentonite clay. it does the job cheaply, altho not as good as silica gel. i do not recommend eating it as it, predictibly, tastes like dirt, but it should not be toxic.
Clear silica gel - it binds to water effectively, is non-toxic, and feels very smooth and neutral in your mouth. i do not recommend eating it but you may suck on these balls safely. godpseed
Silica gel with moisture indicators, usually orange or blue - the blue one is definitely toxic (cobalt chloride), the orange one is also toxic (methyl violet). actually do not eat or suck on.
Zeolite - i should try those again. it does not seem too toxic but do not eat for 'detox' purposes please. god. if you give zeolite to your child to 'cure' autism i will come and butcher you with an axe until there's nothing left to recognize. :)
