Hello, I’m Cin!

I’ve been crocheting amigurumi since 2009 and I made this blog to share them with you all in 2011. You can check out more of them here or check out my tags page for other craft posts.

I occasionally write fics and you can find those here or on my AO3

I record let’s plays to provide background noise for people, however that’s been on hold for a couple years. You can find them on my youtube

And finally I have a side blog which I fill via a queue of everything in my likes which you can find here

I hope you have a good day!

Was thinking between projects when I have the time I might work on a series of witches (which doubles as an excuse to practice techniques I do not use very often). This one is reevaluating layering of bottom - skirt - belt - top all in one, which I have only ever done once before successfully (not including this one which also turned out how I had hoped).

Currently the project has stalled though because I can’t decide if I want to do a witch hat or a headband and I 100% have to choose one before I can start attaching hair.

The last witch I was learning how to make crocheted hair work instead of just attaching yarn.

Posting this months after finishing the blanket, sorry about that, things got really hectic really fast.

The attachment went easily enough but the constant placement adjustment wrecked my back for a couple weeks. Then I was caretaking for multiple surgeries for various family members and partway through that I injured myself so there was a while there where no one in this household was actually mobile in any meaningful way. After that the blanket was being utilized by someone who was having a lot of issues with temperature regulations basically immediately after I finished the trim.

So it wasn’t until recently that I was able to not only weave in all the tails (so many tails) but also take pictures- which was probably the worst part of this because there’s literally no good places to take pics in this house for something so big and I am SHORT so even having it on a bed involved me needing a stool lmao

Anyways this was a fantastic project and very fun to make. The recipient is very happy with it as well (especially because they wanted a different colour scheme than the original pattern) and hopefully things will calm down enough that I can make gifts for the holidays soon.

See the other posts about the blanket with better looks at the individual hexagons here and here and the pattern is Starlite Blanket from TheBurrowUK on etsy

PFFFFFF HI PRO! I’m so honored to be thought of in this way XD

I do have a few reblogs scattered between stuff from the queue but it’s not a lot, sorry. I’m saving most of it for queuing when I get to today in my likes in probably half a year (because with both dnp and mcr active again I cannot keep up even with 50 posts going out a day) It will mostly be screaming and crying at this momentous occasion lol

Tbh I’m still convincing myself they actually admitted it, after all this time I would’ve sworn til I was out of breath that they never would, but I also said that about them coming out so thank god I’m not a victim of Apollo’s dodgeball.

It’s such a lovely day in the phandom and on tumblr and, though I’m mostly just a lurker, I’m very excited to be here to see it. Also I’m fighting the urge to make dolls about it. Thank you and I hope you’re doing fantastic- and that you get something this phenomenal in one of your fandoms too <3

Some Joe Hills appreciation, for doing so much work for a very smooth sailing, entertaining, wonderful Hermitcraft Tour day!

(I need everybody to give Joe flowers or money NOW he put so much work into making this event go well, and it paid off beautifully)

It took a couple months but my thumb finally healed enough that I could yarn without pain! I’ve finished up all the hexagons now and it only took a month and a half (if you don’t count the thumb injury time period) to make all 127 of them, averaging about 3 a day.

I won’t be able to do the actual attachment for a few days because the space I need to line everything up is high traffic atm but fingers crossed it’ll be easy to finish up and I’ll be done soon! :3

A couple months ago someone in my family found out they were at the start of a severe chronic illness. Given the right medical attention they will recover but it will take a long time. I volunteered to help manage things so they don’t have to and to keep an eye on them on a day to day basis.

Since this task involves me needing to be alert but not necessarily occupied with anything I asked for the pattern and yarn to make the Starlite Blanket by TheBurrowUK (which was shown to me years ago by @yharnamsnewslug) for my birthday with the intent to give the completed blanket to that family member for their birthday because that theoretically should be just after they’re through the worst of the illness.

The top 7 pics are mockups I did when learning how the individual hexagon patterns works. The bottom 4 are completed representations of batches of said hexagons.

So far I’ve made 7 of the baby blue hexagons, 6 of the mint hexagons, 6 of the dusty blue hexagons, and 12 of the dusty teal hexagons. I’ve also made a few of the next colour (same pattern as the bottom 3 pictures) but I sprained my thumb helping with some heavy lifting so I’m forcing myself to take a break from yarning while that heals.

Dan and Phil dressed in Kuromi and My Melody themed outfits

If you’d like to see more Dan and Phil dolls, I recently made Sister Daniel and Devil!Phil from Halloween Baking Slime and Sadness Cinnamon Rolls (plus some bonus flirty pics here)

I also made dolls of My Melody and Kuromi way back in 2012.

Lots of wip pics this time around for Phil specifically because I’ve been playing yarn chicken (essentially being unsure if the yarn being used is enough for the project you’re working on) with the light pink I’m using for the hood and overshirt- I nearly lost til I found a dark pink yarn I could use for the shorts instead of the light pink. So shout out to that dark pink yarn (and @yharnamsnewslug for the suggestion) or I probably would’ve had to go buy an entirely new skein of pink and remake the entire doll (I’m pretty sure the store I go to doesn’t have the same skein). I ended up making and remaking the shirt, shorts, hood, and bunny ears several times.

In contrast I have plenty of black and the baby pink yarn I’m using for Dan’s stuff so that’s going well and very fast.

Oh also the brownish roots worked out for Phil’s hair I think, it’s mostly visible in the back and a bit on the top of the head, which is what I was going for.

If all goes well these’ll be done (unintentionally) in time for Valentine’s Day :3
