I couldn’t find the caramelldansen base in this post, but here is a version that should work just as well.

How to make them into a GIF:

Step 1. Edit the base however you like (I used MSPaint)

Step 2: Crop and save each frame individually as PNGs (Note for the lick base: It’s best to crop them to include the black boarder. This makes the GIF 50x50, which is the standard DeviantArt icon size and can easily scale larger if need be.)

Step 3: Go to ezgif.com/maker and upload all your frames

Step 4: Set “delay time” to 10, then click “Make a GIF!”

Step 5: Right-click the result and save it. Congrats! You used a GIF base!

when I was a kid & assigned to read the book the outsiders, I assumed that it must be written by a man because there are virtually no female characters. so I was surprised, at that time, to learn it was written by a teenage girl. I remember asking my mom about it, and she was like “well, sometimes boys are the only thing on a girl’s mind.”

I find it telling that the reverse is not true. straight boys are not generally writing stories where all the characters are women, and if one did, it would not be explained in that same way where obviously when boys like girls they want to write about them.

in fact, pretty much everyone I know who was ever considered to fit that description (a boy really interested in relationships between women) was not a straight boy at all. mostly these were trans lesbians & bisexuals.

it seems like only dykes are ever really interested in stories that revolve around exclusively women. but everybody is interested in stories that revolve around exclusively men.

When I was in high school we did an english unit on Octavia Butler and the teacher told us hey btw. You should call her “Butler” in your essays. Sometimes students call female writers by their first names unconsciously, but that’s not acceptable. If you wouldnt call them William or Ernest you shouldn’t call her Octavia.

And I was like cool whatever I was gonna call her Butler anyways. But that moment has stuck with me for my whole life because once you start seeing ppl calling women by their first names where men would be called by their last names you literally never stop seeing it.
