to tell the truth i am so devastated at the complete and utter failure to portray queer characters decently. ‘let’s all make sure queer people know that all their love life will ever amount to is being rejected by their childhood best friend who doesn’t love them back and settling for some random person they meet in a gay bar!’ NO! the carelessness the duffer brothers had with their lgbt characters is frankly sickening from rockie getting together OFF SCREEN, having close to no romantic scenes together and deciding to make them doomed for absolutely no reason at all, to will’s AWFUL character arc putting him through all the trauma he endured, reducing the love of his life he’s known since he was 5 to a hallway crush, ACTUALLY giving him an epilogue boyfriend who has ZERO lines, did not have a romantic meeting or any moderately interesting scene or connection whatsoever AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF made his entire story and ending about his sexuality. and special mention to mike wheeler who was actually the worst written character in all of history because what in the world was all of that for if he’s not gay??? the duffers completely failed to portray a queer character in a tasteful or interesting manner and dustin’s speech about non conformity was AWFULLY hypocritical and insulting of the duffers and i am so sorry to say that i am extremely disappointed that they stooped so low.
