Hi! Help!

I'm disabled and queer. I've been having a really hard time finding work that accommodates me enough that I can recover on my days off. I'm trying to save up to move out from home and get top surgery. I understand times are tough, and money is tight for everyone. that said, I would greatly appreciate anything that can be contributed.

EDIT (03/26/2025): I have free housing for now, but don't know how long I'll have it. I'm only employed through April 19, 2025. Even just a reblog would help if you can't donate. I had an interview for a part time job yesterday, and have an interview for a different part time museum job next week, but it could be weeks before I know anything. Thank you.

the stepparent forums are full of stepparents lamenting the fact they are not allowed to discipline their stepchildren and then when they start listing the things their stepchildren are doing that they think they need severe punishment for it’s like…huffing in annoyance, leaving shoes by the door, not playing with their toddler aged half sibling

sorry for [remembering a tumblr post about expressing gratitude instead of apologising to make the interaction more positive for the other person] i mean thank you for having a boyfriend who was so easy to run over withmy car and reverse over three times maybe four

"these researchers published a paper on something that literally any of us could have told you 🙄" ok well my supervisors wont let me write something in my thesis unless I can back it up with a citation so maybe it's a good thing that they're amplifying your voice to the scientific community in a way that prevents people from writing off your experiences as annecdotal evidence

they did the research in the first place because they believed you and wanted to tell people about it. they are not our enemies.

Sometimes "they" are us who got an entire graduate degree for the explicit purpose of saying this stuff where academics might take it seriously.

before making the argument of some study being useless, look up of there was research on a claim before and what the results were

Sometimes literally any of us could have told you that water is wet. And sometimes literally any of us could have told you that the Earth is flat. We need the studies to figure out which is which.

I suggest using your local library!

Congress is now considering the appropriations bill for the Department of Homeland Security, whose funding runs out at the end of January. Call your members of Congress and tell them to vote NO on any bill that increases ICE's funding. Please demand that the DHS appropriations bill prohibit ICE and Border Patrol agents from carrying guns and that it unambiguously declare that agents do not have absolute immunity under the law if they harm civilians. Also tell them that any bill must restrict ICE and Border Patrol’s ability to conduct dragnet arrest operations and target people based on their race, language or accent. And the bill must clarify that ICE agents are liable under civil and criminal law if they harm civilians. Do this as soon as you can. To reach your representative or senator, call the U.S. Congressional Switchboard at (202) 224-3121. Tell them the state and city where you live. They will connect you to any member’s office.

when applied to drinks, "dry" means "without sugar". therefore it follows that sugary drinks can be called "wet". the meanings of the terms "hot" and "cold" when applied to drinks are obvious. thus the aspect of any drink can be determined.

for instance, green tea, freshly steeped and served without additives, is hot and dry, and therefore has an aspect of fire.

a mocha, on the other hand, while hot, is sweet, and therefore wet, and thus has an an aspect of air.

lemonade, which is wet and cold, has a water aspect.

finally, the drink which most epitomizes the earth aspect, being both cold and dry, is vodka

i don't think spending more time on something on its own inherently makes that thing any better. because i'm not protestant

i sometimes see videos of digital artists being like "here's a tip on how to draw x thing faster!" and it's like, tracing over stock images or free 3D assets from the clip studio store. and the comments are filled with people saying "no that's cheating!!" can we be so real with ourselves for just one second. how is this cheating. it's not a competition. nobody is getting an award. i don't care if Samantha the digital artist traced a png of a chessboard instead of freehanding it—i see no reason for her to work harder arbitrarily for the same exact outcome

If you want to stand up for transgender Canadians, then there's a petition to ask the federal government to repeal the acts signed into law that restrict transgender medical care for transgender youth:

You need only be a resident of Canada, not a citizen to sign. Please help us give transgender youth a fighting chance. Their medical care decisions should be between the handling physician and family only. This isn't a matter for politicians to decide.

hey, so I would he grateful if people living in Canada could sign this and if non-Canadians could signal boost, please.

The petition will be closed for signatures on February 16, 2026.

This needs to be boosted.
