Hey Fable!

5) Do you have to be related to someone to be family? No. I always feel honoured if someone who I am not blood related to describes me as, or treats me as family. It's one of the best feelings in the world - because for many people simply being true friends is sufficient, but to know that these people chose to hold you even closer than that is something truly indescribable. You do not get to decide who is your blood family, but everyone should have a chosen family. Having a set of people of all ages who - knowing or unknowingly - can fill the gaps that are too often left by blood families is something everybody deserves.

7) Are you in love? Do you want to be in love? Yes. Sometimes I believe it would be easier if I wasn't, but from experience - breaking up with someone isn't the same as falling out of love with them, and ultimately the break up didn't get us anywhere, except from back together. It is undeniable that I am still very much in love with a few chosen people in my life. Occasionally I wish I could be more in love with myself in some ways, but I know that until I am, the people I love will simply love me extra just to make up for it.

greetings lil changelings

existing leaves me perpetually exhausted, but i woke up this morning having realised that now, more than ever i am coming to terms with the fact that life - in all honesty - doesnt care, it will carry on regardless, so even if i do not have the energy, motivation or hope to get up in the morning, the sun will still bloody rise and make me get on with my life.

the massive rows and snippy arguments of an evening that leave my family and friend groups shattered and scattered in pieces across the country? yes i will sit up all night worrying about them, but ultimately they're not going anywhere, and even when i genuinely do not have the time, patience or self control to be the clotting factor for our friendships, they still heal - whether it's as a result of other people stepping up, or time simply relentlessly dragging us all behind him until we find our feet again.

hello there vix

how has being a person been treating you recently?

If you were to live in any fictional book, which would it be? Would you prefer to be part of the plot, working with the main characters? Or would you prefer to stay with your peace, a fly on the wall, living however you see fit without the worries about whatever it is your universe asks?

Avatar

greetings mongoose!

being a person isn't too bad as of this particular moment on this rather rainy day.

In attempting to answer my own question I have discovered that all my favourite books would be rather dire places to live - I do not believe that anyone in their right mind would genuinely wish to be confined to The Handmaid's Tale, or The Boy In Striped Pyjamas...

It certainly took some consideration, and a good 10 minutes of scanning my bookshelves - but I have settled on His Dark Materials - by Philip Pullman. If you do not happen to be familiar with this trilogy it is about a world where every human walks the earth with a daemon, a shapeshifting, talking animal which is as much a part of them as their own soul. I would love to summarise it better but even the first book is so intricate that explaining it risks leaving some important detail out... My favourite part of the world created by the books is the fact that there are no phones, no TVs, no modernisation - zeppelins, gas lamps and horse drawn gypsy wagons are familiar pieces of everyday life

In this world I believe I would rather be a fly on the wall - as many of the characters in the main plot end their stories by dying, being locked up in prison, have their daemon cut away from them with a Maystadt anbaric scalpel, or passing through to other worlds such as ours - which are reachable via 'the gaps' or the Northern Lights. None are overly pleasant or peaceful outcomes.

Were I to be the same as any average human living in this world I would likely lead a normal life - providing I stayed out of trouble of course...

Tell me, what is your favourite colour of the sky?? :D

Avatar

WOAHH hello Mawce... 2 asks from my lil changelings in one day!!

i have so many, because I never see the same one twice. were i to whittle it down to 3 (and you have NO IDEA how much effort that took!)

  • the colour of the sky just after a storm when you can see the literal rays of sun shining through the rips in the grey clouds and they almost look solid
  • the colour of the sky when the sun sets and the clouds look like they've been dipped in an painter's brush pot after they've painted a bouquet of summer roses
  • the colour of the sky shortly after midnight, preferably spangled with shooting stars, so dark that your eyes start to hurt and you begin seeing things in the corner of your vision

Hey Fable!

aw they're amazing films! They're all rather sad though... here's a low down of them...

Bohemian Rhapsody - it's a Queen biography - not 100% accurate chronologically speaking - but the actors and the actual film is amazing! also fake-brian-may looks scarily like the real-brian-may tw - um... none? i don't think? just the general stuff you'd expect from rock and roll?

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower - AMAZING watch! It's awfully sad but also completely wholesome, it's available on YouTube for free! It features a bowie song, gay peoples, sequin tights and late night car rides tw - suicide, self harm, sexual abuse, drugs, sex

The Fault In Our Stars - this one is beautifully sad, it's a romance gone wrong, that was amazing when it lasted. tw - death (cancer)

The Theory Of Everything - oooh so i like this one, it's about the life of stephen hawking (played by eddie redmayne (<3)) very very very well made tw - i don't think there are any :)

(plus an extra one)

The Impossible - this has young tom holland (14) in it and it's amazing. it's based on the true events of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami tw - natural disaster, death, a lot of wounds, general real-life-chaos

ALSO I AM GOOD THANK YOU!
