Can’t explain how much of a game changer this is. I used to miss so many auditions bc I couldn’t find a reader but this app made it possible to quickly get self tape auditions done without needing a reader. It helps me memorize my lines much faster too. Thanks to the rafy team on creating such an awesome app and can’t wait to see how this grows.

Rafy has been so helpful not just for self tapes but also to help run lines to memorize. I love that there are different voice options for the reader. And that you can delay the reader’s onset which is nice. I do find that if I speak too quickly during an emotionally heightened scene, it doesn’t always register that I’m done with my section and so it doesn’t come in. Also sometimes when I take a pregnancy pause before finishing my lines, it thinks I’m finished and comes in early with its lines, which can be a bit frustrating. But overall, when you don’t have a human reader, it’s a really great option! And customer support has been super responsive and helpful!

There needs to be an option to edit the script because sometimes you don’t know there is a mistake in it until you do the practice run and if there’s an error in it now you have to do the whole thing over, which takes away your credits. Also, the voices are just too robotic. This is a great idea, but not a great execution. It needs work. But I see the vision.

This app WOULD deserve 5 stars if it allowed for some customization. I love how well it works, it’s definitely better than any other self tape reader app I’ve tried. But it should not cost you more tokens to adjust your lines or to customize the reader’s voices. Especially when you CANNOT listen to a preview of the reader’s speaking your lines before you it charges you for a token. I unfortunately used up all 3 of my initial tokens trying to get the perfect voices for a scene and sadly by the 3rd try it still wasn’t satisfactory. This really makes no sense to me and considering that even paying for a subscription gives you such a small number of tokens, I don’t know if it’s worth it. Especially when it might take you 5 or 6 tokens just to customize the voices in a way that works for your scene. Otherwise this app is incredible and would be a total game changer. I’d happily purchase a subscription if customizations were allowed. And I’d recommend to all my acting friends who I’m positive would also love. But for now, this is just not it.

This app is truly a godsend. I used to have my friends and family (reluctantly) read for my self tapes, but when I found Rafy everything changed. You can choose the voice/gender and age range of your reader, so they fit the actual character you’re in the scene with, it shows the lines on the screen while you record and you can also chose alternate line readings if the reader isn’t getting the mood right. My self-tapes have improved by leaps and bounds and I’ve had the most callbacks and castings than I ever landed before I found this app. I’m a Rafy-head now and will use this app for all of my auditions. Not only that, but the support team is incredibly kind and worked with me to get a discount after I missed the promotion. Shoutout to Jam, and all the fellow thespians at Rafy who understand what it means to put your best self on tape. Can’t recommend this app enough. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Okay yall, thought this would be too good to be true but this app is immaculate. I’m floored by how well it works for self taping. The readers that are already loaded in don’t sound like an ai robot at all and are so easy to work with. There’s a tiny flaw in the voice recognition, sometimes if I take too long of a pause in my line it’ll skip me but I was able to just adjust my timing a bit to work around this. My only note is that I wish the view of the camera frame while you are taping was true to the final frame (it’s much more punched in while taping) but again something that can be worked around with a little troubleshooting. The subscription price is in line with those of other websites actors use daily, so I think it’s well worth it. I will absolutely be using this app over and over and over again.
