I have three brothers and we had one spongebob themed monopoly. We never finished the game. It made us fight each other more often than not.

But that it's unfair WAS the point and it made it a lot less fun.

Eventually, us losing ones would eventually start cheating and steal from the bank. My second oldest brother - often the bank himself - would slip us enormous amounts of money so the game could continue.

That's such a good portrayal of how it works. Either, one person hoards all the money and the rest are cut out of the game,

Or someone tries to reform the rules by distributing money more evenly and masking the problem, so everyone can keep playing.

The money, in the end, is always there - until the destined rich guy has all of it.

Then, and only then, the game is over.

We've reached the point where we need to cheat to survive. Because in the game, not having money is annoying as you can no longer play. But in real life, losing means you might die.

It sucks ass. I hate this game.

Ever since I wachted this video, I can't look at Monopoly the same any more. Still a shit game, but I admire the original maker's intent.
