With vanilla extract being a meme, I wanted to share some black history of Edmond Albius a black slave who revolutionized vanilla pollination.

He used a technique he learned of pollinating melons to polinate the orchids to create the vanilla beans. Vanilla was rare and a luxury mainly due to only being able to be pollinated by its natural pollinator in Mexico.

He’s a US citizen, so they obviously could not have had a judicial warrant to arrest this guy.

ICE are now claiming they were looking for a registered sex offender and got them confused but. ICE aren’t the police. ICE isn’t running around executing warrants from the cops for people on the run. That’s not ICE’s job either.

If you had a warrant, which you didn’t, then you’d still need to see to verify who he is. All statements from the family and the video suggest he was detained in his underwear in the freezing cold and then driven around in a car for an hour while ICE tried to sort shit out. I don’t know about you but I don’t sleep with my ID in my boxers in my own house.

You still broke a bunch of laws guys. You still busted into a person’s home without a warrant and detained the wrong person in his underwear in the freezing cold of winter.

Don’t forget that the US civil rights bill only passed after six weeks of rioting that were the direct result of MLK’s murder. Peaceful protest paved the way, but violent protest got it over the finish line.
