2025 Favorites and Not

As it says in the title, this was supposed to be done at the end of 2025 and here we are a week into 2026. It’s been sitting in my drafts cause I was hoping to get to it when I had time but while most people had the holidays off I had to work long hours and every day during the holidays so I am just now getting to things on here.
Tl;dr Sorry this took me so long! I know most people have already done this but if you haven’t and you want to consider yourself tagged by me!!!
Review of writing stuff for the year!
Favorite character to write for/about
I really like writing Nia and Illario. They have been a lot of fun to write. I like their back and forth and their banter. i like Illario always trying to get under Nia’s skin and teasing her. And Nia hating it at first but then ending up loving the attention later on. Also they are both so broken in so many of the same ways.
Least favorite character to write for/about
Oof I really don’t like writing Solas. I would love to write more stuff about him and Hara but I have such a hard time writing dialog for him.
Favorite pairing
I really started getting into writing fics for Mass Effect. I wanted to write stuff for my Shepard and Kaidan. So I kinda started with them. I love writing for them and miss them soooo much. They are my true otp. But for DA Solas x Hara, I adore Lucanis x Emmra and I am utterly obsessed with Illari and Nia…I just can’t pick a favorite!! Don’t make me!!
Least favorite pairing
Ugh I don’t really like to say. My least favorite is always going to be someones favorite so I’m just gonna skip this one :D
Favorite POV and Tense
I prefer third person. And I when I write I tend to go back and forth between pov’s which is super confusing. I am super new to writing so it’s hard for me to stay with one pov. I try to only switch pov’s if its a different chapter, but sometimes I do it like mid paragraph and it I wish I could stop but sometimes I like to know what both/more than one character is thinking.
I really don’t like first and second pov. I will usually skip a fic or not read a book if it is in this pov.
And then stuff like past and present tense confuse me sometimes when I’m lost in just trying to get the story out.

Something other people have told you that you’re good at
As far as my writing I have been told I’m good at building tension I think. So that’s nice cause I like doing that :D
Something you think you’re good at
Idk!! I don’t like this one…I guess I do like writing tension and banter so lets just say I’m good at that cause I do it a lot.
Something you want to improve on
Just want to improve my writing in general. I feel like I’m too descriptive and over explain things. I feel like I see things so clearly in my head that I want to make sure anyone reading it sees it too but it doesn’t really work that way, so I need to stop being so wordy with things.
Also I want to read more fics like a lot of of people have stated. The honest reason I don’t is I am so so afraid I will love something from someone else’s fic then forget that I read it in said fic, then remember it but forget where I got it from and the use it….basically I’m afraid of unintentionally stealing an idea from someone else cause my brain cells are depleting every second.
Favorite thing you read this year
Again I didn’t read a lot of fics this year for the reason above but huge shout out to my friend @lonyn , DA fics. This year she wrote a sequel to her DATV fic featuring her non rook OC and Illario And Some Will Fall & And Some Will Rise . So she inspired me to do the same and now I’m obsessed with writing my oc x Illario this year and next 😈
Favorite event you did this year
I didn’t participate in many events this year mostly because of time restrictions. But I did enjoy all the amazing art and fics that came out of Lucanis and Illario week. I participated only one day each :(
Favorite song to listen to while you write/get you in the writing mood
Depends on the ship and which one I’m writing for but I have playlists for all my ships

Always fluff with a tiny bit of angst and a heavy dose of longing sprinkled with a dash of action
