I’m not. @samreich Fuck em up clown shoes dominatrix
For context as someone subscribed to Dropout: Sam Reich, CEO of Dropout, is the man pictured above. He’s not only gone on record about the company having no plans to get involved in AI, he’s walked the walk by taking part in the SAG-AFTA and WGA strikes both picketing and donating to guild relief funds — including donating $10,000 the company had originally planned to use in a for your consideration campaign on the Emmy nomination they’d been given.
They’re also surprisingly transparent about where and how they spend their money, with most of it going towards talent and production costs: marketing is done almost exclusively via social media.
The company makes fun, silly, entertaining videos that can be surprisingly heartfelt and is one of the most affordable streaming services out there. Not only is it $5.99 a month with a discount on yearly subscription, legacy subscribers are grandfathered in (I personally pay less than $5 a month.) They also let customers know about future increases well ahead of time.
No corporation is your friend, but it’s worth noting that people are happy to pay more to a company that not only makes a product they like but is upfront about how they do so.
As for the clown shoes dominatrix comment… well, watch Game Changer now, thank me later.
☝️☝️☝️☝️
Clown Shoes Dominatrix was a series of words both intentionally chosen and complimentary :) Everyone watch Game Changer
also want to add that the new price increase was slated to only affect new subscribers, but a bunch of older subscribers started messaging and commenting like "please let me pay you the new rate" so they added an option to opt into it. people like this streaming service so much that they were begging to pay more for it. and as someone who watches it regularly (bf is a subscriber lol I'm broke) I can totally understand why. they make really good shows and there are zero ads. it's all you ever wanted in a streaming service tbh.
