A wonderful guitar album by Don Peris. Calm and peace are flowing whether purely instrumental or with Don's fragile heartfelt voice on top. It's all delicate arranged, played and produced. I have to choose North Atlantic Sand as my favorite though - an instant classic in the IM canon with it's breathtaking intense chorus - Wow.
A lovable solo album. Soft, gentle singing accompanied by primarily acoustic or clean amplified guitar playing on top in delicate melodies. References could perhaps be the late Grant McLennan of Australian The Go-betweens or the scotsmen in The Blue Nile. You are in great company with this one!
Incredible demos and live recordings from a time long past. And then these haunting new old songs - Geranium Lake and Film For My Sister, which really stands out for me as favorite tracks.
A diverse set of well-crafted pieces of music with instrumentals as well as songs in IM-style. It's a calm and soothing EP with nods to Nick Drake and a taster of both artists brilliant later solo work - The Old Century (Don) and Violet (Karen). 'You draw the Streets of Rome' is an in instant classic, fresh and new but with the feeling of something dearly well known.
A quiet and somewhat melancholic solo album under scored by Karen Peris' sparse piano only accompanied by an occasional guitar and strings. An almost introvert experience with a paradoxically mesmerizing effect. As per usual incredible moving lyrics (3 songs). The title is apt for the mood. A beautiful record.
