With a K, Typical Amerikan, and Scene Famous are probably my favorite tracks off this album, but I've honestly had the whole thing playing in my head on loop recently. There's just such a great energy going on! The vocalists are also phenomenal. Like... dang.
Went to one of his last tour concerts and, in the words of the dude sitting behind me, "This guy is champagne". The range (vocal, emotional, and otherwise) is incredible. There is a Devon Townsend song for every one of my musical needs.
Andrew Bird has been on my list of favorite musicians since the early aughts - back when I was a student. He's just got such a hauntingly lovely voice and his compositions give me that frission feeling where you get goosebumps from listening to music.
My introductory TMBG album. They could have digitally imaged my brain and turned it into music and not managed to hit the same feeling of "Oh this is a ME album" that Phone Power evokes.
