This is a dream you don’t want to wake from. Truly transcendent. I feel like I’m traversing the stars while listening to Ganesha. It’s meditative and serene, but unique enough to be challenging. Highest recommendation.

    by Dead and Dripping
My favorite album from D and D. This is the thickest, heaviest filth ever to clog your arteries. Drums that make you feel as if you’ve died and transcended to heaven. I don’t know why it took me so long to pick it up, other than this shit is so weird. Perfectly strange and infinitely brutal.
  13. Blackened Cerebral Rifts
    by DEAD AND DRIPPING
I’ll never miss another of Evan’s albums. Transcending Obscurity has been showing uncanny discernment with the signings lately. After starting to absorb the music of D and D every release keeps sounding better with repeat listens. This music injects and then infects.
  14. Obscura

    Rapturous Grief Rapturous Grief
A terrific gift from g3core. Obscura is no longer the strangest extreme metal album of all time, but it was the first of its kind. It set the stage for the dissonance and experimentation that we see everywhere today. Frankly, I think many bands have been stealing these ideas and fleshing them out for years. That said, Considered Dead is still my favorite Gorguts album. You can’t really go wrong with this band.
  15. Concetto Transeunte
    by Human
    Chromatic Flow Chromatic Flow
Easily the best technical death metal this year. Just under the wire, this album is up there with the Aussies Depravity and Vile Apparition, just under Cryptopsy, with Blood Monolith rounding out the top 5 in death metal for me. If you care. If not, listen anyway because this is even better than Alizarin Refraction.
