I love this album because Margo brings back what has always been the bedrock of great country music. Stories. Not stories about drinking cheap beer from a red cup, or dancing in short shorts and cowboy boots, but stories about loss, isolation, existential crisis, and inequality. All wrapped up in the familiar and comforting sounds of Nashville. Margo Price draws from the likes of Dolly, Loretta, Tanya Tucker, and Willie Nelson.
