Plumbing the depths of rage and utter hopelessness. Extremely bleak and raw but also quite well written (as usual). Also very sick cover art🤘

This didn't hit me as hard out of the gate as Saturnian (which I personally loved, originality be damned) but it's been growing on me in a big way. Basically sounds like early DCD or Sisters of Mercy in a blender with late Immortal. Strange brew maybe but it works, and at times even manages to surpass its influences. It's so easy on the ears my 8yo daughter requested it in the car yesterday, but nonetheless it's high quality, well crafted music. Oh and the climax of Hategate is fucking sublime 👌

Thanks for posting this unsung classic of the second wave on bandcamp. Definitely the product of a band discovering their sound, but even at this early stage these guys stood out as uncommonly good songwriters, effortlessly (but not always seamlessly) jumping between funereal dirge, grimy death thrash and the evil baroque magnificence they became known for. Some great riffs on this one, highly recommended.

For naked Carcass worship this is pretty damn solid. It has the same baritone grooviness and sepulchral atmosphere that made Symphonies of Sickness so compelling. Quality-wise I'd say it's just about on par with its source material
