    Imawok Imawok
One of the very best works from the musician who produces masterpieces the way ordinary mortals make coffee. It's also one of the most tuneful and accessible. Driving Oldfield-esque instrumentals with a Vangelis/Jarre edge, strung together in a double-album's worth of epic symphonising. The guitar work is also exceptional. An essential album for those who love musical voyages.

    Escape Velocity Escape Velocity
Not content with expanding the genre created by Mike Oldfield, TNO demonstrates his mastery of the Vangelis / Jarre style with this all-synth masterwork. The 20+ minute title track contains as much variety as a classical symphony, while being crammed with hooks, grooves and melodies - which avoid the pitfall of this style by never growing stale. The stand-out of the shorter tracks, the still-epic Escape Velocity, evolves and evolves from deceptively simple origins to take you on a sci-fi voyage.

A real grower, this one. TNO's albums are almost too numerous to keep track of, but this one stands out the more I play it. A hugely rich palette of different melodies, rhythms and musical moods, all blended in the Oldfield-inspired style that TNO has made his own. The steadily building climax is as majestic as anything Oldfield himself has ever done. I can't rate this highly enough.

    Hope Hope
This album is a masterpiece. I actually regret that Amarok took a different direction after this epic, which pays homage to Oldfield without copying him, and also features lyrics from some of the best lyricist of all time (how many bands can say that?!). The poems turned into songs are just brilliant, and the epic title track is a worthy companion to the band's namesake album by Mike himself. Please do another work like this one!
