These Swiss shamans truly are one of the most unique contemporary acts in all of metal, particularly when it comes to black metal, and that stands as a testament to their artistic prowess given the competition!
Continuing their The Maldoror Chants cycle, Old Ocean beckons the listener to uncover its depths and be awed by its terrifying magnificence. Its melodies are like the waves of the ocean, cold and harsh, yet contain a beauty unmatched.
    I HAIL YOU, SCHAMMASCH!

Contradiction is an album I've become transfixed with since last year and it got me to check their entire discography, which was a sonical journey like no other and my admiration and respect for their discography only grows with each listen.
When it comes to the unity of art, aesthetics, music and the underlying philosophy behind it, they have everything that makes truly great black metal and have deepened the abyss with this hellish piece.

Innermost, Lowermost Abyss Innermost, Lowermost Abyss
An album born of anguish, full of devilish energy and desolate moments of beauty, as it plunges the listener into the fiery depths of Hell, culminating the journey with a sombre, contemplative instrumental that I simply adore.
Schammasch will never grow stagnant as it is a band that always reinvents themselves and does something unexpected, different and unique, and it's why I have so much respect for them as artists.

    Syke hjerter Syke hjerter
Captures everything I loved about the Norwegian black metal and feels like a refinement of that style, it's also just great black metal in general. Syke hjerter is one of the most beautiful songs I've heard, the final portion of the song could go on forever and I wouldn't mind it. Now that a year had passed and I've had time to listen to it thoroughly, given all the names it has attached to the project, this album delivers and is extremely fitting for the coming season. Love it!
