I recite this to myself every time I refrain from making a stupid purchase

  • you mean introducing middlemen to the medium defined by its absence of middlemen didn't work out for anyone? that's crazy! wish you didn't stripmine our entire art scene to figure it out.

  • oh actually I do have one more thing to say: note well that the illusion of a functional comics network I mean publisher I mean service provider in hiveworks was being kept afloat for years by funds misappropriated from porn. many of the artists who worked for slipshine also worked for hiveworks. you cannot separate sex from art, philosophically or financially, and I can personally guarantee that the wider debanking and deplatforming of porn going on right now is already destroying the livelihoods of artists you exclusively know and love for sfw projects. even if you think the tightening noose doesn't affect you, because you personally don't make work with adult or sexual themes, you have to get wise to the fact that the infrastructure you work within is bankrolled by sex, whether it's a content network, a social media platform or a gallery club operated by the biggest freak in nyc.

  • I bring sort of a 'peasants of the past were not as debased, uneducated and dirty as a lot of pesudo-medieval fiction makes them out to be but this new wave of attempting to sweep the very real indentured servitude, corporal ownership, poverty and lack of basic human rights under the rug isn't achieving what you think it's achieving' vibe to the party that people don't really like

Being a straight trans man is actually hellish. You likely start out identifying as a lesbian and get slowly boiled in the “straight men are creepy and gross and predatory and disgusting” soup. And even if you never identified as a lesbian, that’s still something the queer community as a whole believes, that only women can love women in a good way. And then when you realize you’re a straight trans man, no one and nowhere is going to help you feel actually comfortable in your sexuality because no one cares! You’re transitioning into being a straight man, so you SHOULD actually feel like a future rapist every time you think a woman is sexy. It’s ridiculous. You can’t even talk about this because then everyone thinks you’re some whiny entitled straight man who got his feefees hurt (completely removing the context of being trans also). You’re kind of in completely alone. Add on to that, feeling like a freak for being attracted to women bcus no self respecting woman would be into someone who isn’t a “real man”

  • This is transandrophobia.

  • thank you yes, I did need this today

  • The opposite of "there's an XKCD strip for this" has got to be "what the fuck do you mean there's an Achewood strip for this," less common, more alarming.
