being anti ai is making me feel like in going insane. "you asked for thoughts about your characters backstory and i put it into chat gpt for ideas". studies have proven its making people dumber. "i asked ai to generate this meal plan". its causing water shortages where its data centers are built. "ill generate some pictures for the dnd campaign". its spreading misinformation. "meta, generate an image of this guy doing something stupid". its trained off stolen images, writing, video, audio. "i was talking with my snapchat ai-" theres no way to verify what its doing with the information it collects. "youtube is impletmenting ai based age verification". my work has an entire graphics media department and has still put ai generated motivational posters up everywhere. ai playlists. ai facial verification. google ai microsoft ai meta ai snapchat ai. everyone treats it as a novelty. every treats it as a mandatory part of life. am i the only one who sees it? am i paranoid? am i going insane? jesus fucking christ. if i have to hear one more "well at least-" "but it does-" "but you can-" im about to lose it. i shouldnt have to jump through hoops to avoid the evil machine. have you no principles? no goddamn spine? am i the weird one here?
you see, kanao has all of the traditional aspects that apply to being a princess. broken home, beautiful face, soft voice, pure nature, and a legacy to behold once she's rescued from the house that threatened to kill her.
kanao and shinobu kocho already had proven themselves as slayers and have a strong brand attached to their name. every girl wears a butterfly in their hair. every girl is a sister once they're gifted a butterfly pin to wear as a badge of resilience, honor, and sisterhood. in a way, kanao and aoi were both next in line for the throne, they just took different paths. aoi for the legacy of the estate, and kanao for the legacy of battle.
kanao's saviors were both beautiful women who were sisters. they both granted her wish—to have a real family to be proud of. now she's living within the rich legacy of two women who fight for the lives of others and follows in their footsteps (not because she has to, but because she wants to. it's the first thing she'd decided on her own.)
You ever think, in post-canon domesticity, that sometimes things dawn on Nezuko at random?
I keep picturing her eating a meal with the Kamaboko boys and then blurting out, "The day you met, you all gave each other broken ribs."
Zenitsu would immediately insist he gave nothing to nobody, and Inosuke would happily brag about having the most broken ribs. Tanjirou would probably just smile and say what a good job she did of remembering and keep eating like there is nothing wrong with what Nezuko has pointed out.
it doesn't just stop at the first meetings, but The Realizations can go all the way back to when things changed for all of them. i think the death of demon nezuko and the rebirth of human nezuko brought with it a new way of thinking independently for her.
when nezuko was still a demon, she'd kind of float through her new existence and sort of take things as they were handed to her, held together by her only living immediate family member. she didn't really have to think when tanjiro was there to keep her grounded. but the day of the final battle, she died a second time (and was born again). during the final moments on demon nezuko, she kind of had that sequence of memories similar to the way people who are on the verge of death have their while life flash before them. i think finally being able to process her life post-muzan really stuck with her. it wasn't just a one and done thing yk?
i believe there are moments in post canon where nezuko REALLY just goes "holy shit" and kind of needs to. you know. take a seat. this happens to all of kamaboko in their own different ways, but it's especially this way with nezuko. she was quite literally the driving force behind the change after all. who knows how things would have turned out if things didn't play out the way they did.

I wish you all a Happy New Year as we’re leaving Tiger for Rabbit (Japan celebrations are a bit early, Lunar year will officially begin on January 22). 2022 was once again pure chaos, I don’t have much hope for a quieter 2023, but let’s hold on together!!!
