I’ve been slowly working on illustrating my own Tarot deck about black cats.
I have a long way to go, but I’m nearly done with the major arcana.
Here are some of my favorites:
I set myself a design challenge (as I often do). I wanted to limit the color palette and the brush styles to create a very consistent look.
And since each card focuses on black cats, it forces me to think deeply about symbolism and design to make sure the meaning of each card is clear and each design is unique.
But there’s still a lot of variety coming through. It’s not all class, or all silliness - just like cats

I’m so happy with how both of these two managed to feel dark, but adorable at the same time.

Most of these used my own feline friends for reference.
There are more but I don’t know yet how many I want to share online. If I can actually complete the entire deck I would love to have it made. But I have a ways to go, so for now I continue to chip away, one card at a time.
I trimmed my hair today and gave myself early 2000’s bangs. Ive gotten pretty good at bangs but its been a while since i did the length of my hair. Ill go back in in a few months and make it more even but for now its fine.
Sometimes studies are done just to get a raw number. Just for the sake of having data. Data application and use in the field pan out differently. Its late so im not gonna be super expressive. But sometimes numbers are simply sought.
You can tell how disconnected someone is from other people if they by default assume someone does not have an experience unless they volunteer the information to all at all times
I notice this a lot with sexual abuse in particular like do you know how common it is to experience that you have to either be genuinely dumb or trying to intimidate people into silence to expect people to divulge that information to you before talking
having anti role models is a beautiful thing. it’s not easy to live up to someone else’s behavior but it is easy to lasso yourself into behaving right when you realize you’re reminding yourself of the worst person youve ever met in your entire life
Cutting boards, pots and pans, and utensils hang from the walls and bright green ceiling joists in the kitchen of sculptor and woodworker Wharton Esherick. The stucco fireplace is for charcoal grilling, while the little gas range handles conventional cooking tasks. A copper sink is set in a cherry countertop finished with clear epoxy.
