"minecraft wants you to do it because its an advancement" wrong i kill you with my essay response. minecraft is showing you that its a thing you can do
like, thats the genius of minecraft's game design.
it's a sandbox game but it gives you an advancements/achievements menu. you can use it to progress through the game, but you can also use it to see what other sort of stuff you can do in the game. and all of it is completely unnecessary to do. it's just there to show you that its a thing you can do.
it doesnt use the menu to tell you "you should do this next" or "you need to do this". it uses it to show you that there are so many things you could do in the game. and! this also makes you, at least subconciously, think more about how to interract with the game in ways that arent mentioned in the advancements
