Inktober day 21- The Long Walk. Mixed feelings here as well. As a standalone movie, it’s definitely good, if not a little cheesy at times, but as someone who's a fan of the original novella and who’s favorite characters are McVries and Stebbins, it’s a little sad to see those two get character transplants. In fact, I disliked a lot of the changes they made to the narrative, especially the no crowds thing (takes away from the feeling of voyeurism and the statement on the complicity of the people watching) but just in general, I think they declawed a lot of the characters. It’s like they were afraid that if they showed anyone having negative character traits, you wouldn’t feel as bad watching them get shot.
