One time I sent in an ask to this-is-ableism about some comments my doctor had made that were shitty. Someone responded in the comments that my body sounded beautiful, and it was really heartwarming to me. I'd never gotten that before. Someone promptly told them it was "fetishizing" me to say that, so they deleted their comment.

It's not fetishizing to call a perisex body beautiful, but it somehow IS fetishizing to call an intersex body beautiful. It's somehow sexual if someone says I don't sound disgusting. Gee, thank you, perisex "ally", for saving me from the dirty fetishizer who thought I might not be ugly as shit.

This is intersexism.

There's a valid concern for objectification of intersex bodies but simply viewing intersex bodies as beautiful is... Not That. We have to be able to distinguish between harmful vs genuine appreciation of intersexuality. It's not a crime to find intersex bodies attractive, or beautiful, or to perceive them at all.

vbs meiko has accidentally given all of the members of vbs except toya alcohol because she got distracted making drinks for them and herself at the same time. kaito has (jokingly) threatened to take her bar away if she does it again. does he know how to do this? no, no he does not.

anyways. specifics on what happened;

akito got a proper glass instead of just a spiked regular drink, so he thought she was just doing what she did that time before, when she gave him tea in a whiskey glass as a weird metaphor or whatever the hell that was, and drinks it without thinking. he just coughs and tells meiko that this is probably hers. they never speak of it again.

an watches meiko make her own drink and jokes that she wishes she was allowed to do that, it'd help get her through the long shifts when everyone's off school and in weekend garage, and meiko replies (also joking) saying she could just make herself a coffee or something and put a shot of something in it, and demonstrates, but forgets to make an another coffee, and an is too distracted in the conversation to notice. len is not, and reminds meiko of an's age before rin calls him and he runs off to go to her. meiko says that it's not enough to do anything really, but just to be safe, she should make an a new one.

for kohane, meiko literally just zoned out making kohane an iced tea and herself a cocktail, and put the wrong stuff in kohane's drink. no one realises this until a few hours later, when toya comes to sekai, asking meiko what she put in that drink she gave kohane, because she seems really out of it, and he's worried she might've had a reaction of some kind to an ingredient. meiko just curses under her breath and goes back to the kitchen to ask wtf she's supposed to do because toya will probably murder her if she tells him what she thinks might've happened. (dramatic but he won't be happy)

toya watches meiko carefully every time she makes anyone a drink because it's fascinating to him, so he's always able to point out when she's mixing up two drinks, so he's never been given anything he shouldn't have. if he didn't watch though, it would be a very different story.

I saw some people say something along the lines of ‘non-binary is a fad for the younger generation and is part of a hyper-identity phase’ or ‘if we didn’t have gender roles we wouldn’t need non binary’ or ‘nonbinary as a third category is unnecessary because a) transitioning from one gender to another [MTF/FTM] is possible, transitioning to nothing isnt b) you can only be perceived as male or female so nonbinary makes no sense c) being gender nonconformity doesn’t require dissociation from one’s sex’

I also saw ‘nonbinary people who have gendered names pronouns whatever shouldnt expect to be gendered correctly’
