Occupation: At the time of writing this, as of relatively recently a media production graduate. Career-wise, I want to be a video editor in my day job as well as writing and publishing the sci-fi book concepts I’ve been devising.

But also the Star Trek reboot trilogy, Men in Black, and Lightyear. For both The Matrix and MiB, the first one’s comparatively the best but all three in their original trilogies are still brilliant. In The Matrix’s case, the sudden fourth one’s still good even if it’s not comparatively as much so as the first three, but I’m opting to ignore MiB’s own sudden fourth and pretend that it doesn’t exist, because it felt so very forgettable and bland and it doesn’t even have the same main characters anymore.

Favourite TV Shows: Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, Star Treks TNG, DS9, Enterprise and Strange New Worlds, Doctor Who (the Modern Era), Merlin, and the MiB animated series.

Favourite Bands: Bananarama, Kylie Minogue, and Duran Duran. I adore the 80s, and the music from the time is one part of that.

Hobbies: Editing together fandom-based videos for my YouTube channel (which I’ve recently had to divert some of my attention away from for university assignments), and being a violinist and keyboard player as well as sci-fi writing. I’m in the middle of writing one of my own books!

Favorite Actors: The Matrix franchise’s Main Four - Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss and Hugo Weaving - as well as some others like, most of all, Matt Smith and Benedict Cumberbatch.

Miscellaneous: I really love the men in black trope/conspiracy theory in UFOlogy that the Matrix Agents and the MiB movies named after it are examples of, and both universes of my book concepts are also going to involve examples of it. Also, I’m autistic - what you’d informally call Level 1 - and I’ve identified The Matrix as being my #1 special interest. One of the other big ones is bees. 🐝🥰

On the Friday night last weekend, I had three of my friends over at my house for the second half of a Matrix marathon that we got halfway through at one of the friends’ places one night in August. As you can see, because this time it was my domain I had some time to set up themed snacks guarded by my Morpheus Tubbz duckie, and for some extra decor I set up my other Tubbz next to him, as well as laying out my Neo prop work badge that I found on Etsy a couple of years ago. 🎬🌟

Also, one of the other two mates and I both spent the evening in our costumes, with me as Neo and him as Trinity, as a continuation of when we did it for comic con a few months ago (it was his request that I once again censored his face with frog emojis in this post). 😍 Yes, as is shown in one of these pictures we took, I did indeed go the extra mile for the cosplay by giving him a little peck on the cheek. 🤗

For this one, my main thought was ‘POV: you’re Smith’ LMAOOO.

Me and him even spent the next morning putting our Neo and Trinity costumes back on again and re-enacting some of the scenes! The first one is them looking out over the rooftops during the sunrise in Resurrections, the second is when Trinity gets shot in Reloaded and Neo restarts her heart, and I’m sure we can all recognise what’s happening in the last one. 🔥💖

And he and both of the other friends did like all four of the movies! Now they can finally understand so many more of my lore references LMAO. They agree with me that Resurrections isn’t as much bliss as the original trilogy, but we like to think of it as basically being an alternate continuity - basically as an AU ending in-universe that’s separate from the continuity of the ending that we got from Revolutions, if that makes sense, and we all agreed that Neo and Trinity’s relationship in Resurrections was very well-developed. And the friend who did the Trinity cosplay now wants to do his own marathon sleepover with us at some point but for the John Wick films! I’ve only ever seen the first one and, of course, it involves sweet Keanu. 🥰

AAA I do love some 47 whump, and I haven’t played it through yet but from what I’ve seen the Patient Zero Hokkaido level really is amazing story-wise! I like imagining him getting whumped like this because yes, he’s a genetically engineered perfect killing machine, but he surely can’t be invincible.

It would’ve been cool for 47 to throw up at some point during the level after getting infected, as you usually feel a bit shaky and drained after you’re done so there could be an in-game mechanic where your aim with weapons afterwards is harder to line up, and I simply like the idea of him being confused and worried because he’s not supposed to feel so ill.

Even if partaking in Neo and Smith’s ship isn’t for me, this is amazing on the grounds that the energy it gives off is just like the dynamic between Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner. I can now imagine Smith doing the age-old trick of painting a fake tunnel LMAOOOO.

Having had to do a phone interview earlier today, which I was quietly quivering about both last night and this morning beforehand, I felt there was no time like the present for sharing this thing I found on TikTok last night, made by an account known as adhd_memetherapy. It was scheduled for today and I wasn’t necessarily avoiding it, but that doesn’t detract at all from this video feeling perfectly-fitting LMAO.

I completely agree with your tags, Shase: it’s so sweet that Neo and Morpheus both equally admire each other, and with one of them being The One and the other being a captain, they’re arguably among the characters who most deserve to have a nice, peaceful rest. I don’t view Morpheus and Neo in a shippy way, because Morpheus comes across to me as being the team dad; I just love the wholesomeness of the dynamics between Team Neb, especially these two. Even after Neo becomes The One from Reloaded onwards, he is very powerful but there’s still a lot that he doesn’t know or understand, and so it’s like there’s a safe space for him with the fatherly Morpheus in terms of expressing his concerns. 🥹💞

The first few seconds of this compilation’s first Revolutions one always get me feeling emotional, especially with the shots of Smith with his lightning ‘wings’ as he gears up to basically unleash hellfire upon Neo and of the latter walking through the Machine City via his golden seer POV. There’s another DVD menu for the first movie that wasn’t in this video, which is the menu for my own copy (mine is probably just different because it’s the UK release whereas these Matrix 1 menus are likely to be from the American release), so I’ll have to screen-record my own Matrix 1 DVD’s menu and post that here as well!

Either way, all of these are a masterclass in styles of videography editing that I REALLY hope to emulate. 😍🔥
