Have you guys noticed how much the internet/technology just does not listen to you anymore? I click “don’t show this artist” on Spotify and I get recommended a music video by them on the front page. I click “skip this update” on a pop up every time I open a file organization app and it’s right back there every time. I click unsubscribe on a newsletter and it keeps showing up in my inbox!! I click “delete my account” and the next time I open the website they suggest I “reactivate”.
The official sequel to that one post. It got very popular and I thought I would share the "answer" I found to my original "question".
The original comic is about growing up aneurotypical (specifically I have autism and ADHD among other things, e.g. being LGBT) in a world not made for that, and my profound feelings of alienation as a result.
Whether you share those specific problems or not, I am sincerely happy if it resonated with you and humbled that it meant something to so many people.
A popular addition to the post was "you will find your people". I think it is absolutely true that you can and will find people willing to support you and love you for who you are - I have, and their support made much of my growth possible (as well as therapy). I am grateful to the artist that made that addition and think it is important.
But I wanted to make this because to me, it was important to learn the message that you are allowed to exist as yourself, even if you were to never find a single other person who accepts you. You do not need the validation of others. Even if you feel like you were somehow made wrong, or will never fit in with anyone else, you have the right to exist.
Live authentically for yourself, and not for others. Pursue your passions.
It is intentional that the person in the comic never fully regains their color. I will never be the untraumatized child I once was. But that doesn't mean life is not worth living.

I don't usually reblog my own stuff much but I keep getting notifications for the old one (it has like 230k notes or something wild like that) and a lot of them are vulnerable kids who seem like they could use this message instead. Languages are funny for so many reasons but I'm always surprised when I discover a language uses multiple words for something that only has one word in my native language. Like. What's the difference between a squash and a pumpkin? That's all Kürbis to me. Pigeons and doves? Baby, that's a Taube.

Interesting how the weird effect of Durin being forgotten cuz 2 beings bearing the same name(and thus the same Fate) cannot exist in Teyvat at the same time, didn't affect ppl with Visions... or the Traveler and their companion that gets all the buffs and benefits of the Traveler's elemental blessings(Dendro's power over dreams and underwater breathing with Hydro) without being able to use the elements herself.
Well one is Kujou Sara(Japanese-九条裟羅) and the other is just Sara(Japanese-サラ | Chinese-莎拉). White Sara's name when the characters are broken up has no meaning and is just a version of Sarah, but Asian Sara's name has a prominent surname attached and each character alone has meaning.

people saying “don’t use your full government name for your ao3”, “create different emails for work and personal use” but personally I think it’s both sad and dystopian how capitalism/companies/even schools think they have the rights to cross your personal boundaries and insert themselves into your personal life. like, I get it, safety wise, why checking digital footprints can be important sometimes. but a gay fanfiction is not a fucking threat that could ever cause anybody harm. it’s funny (not really, it’s still sad and dystopian) how they now think they can control your personal life and prevent you from having hobbies
In France there is a law (most companies don’t follow however) that forbid them for checking your personal social networks if you don’t give them when you apply for a work.
Even if most companies stalk their (future) employees online, something like that could not be applied or asked
