No joke, go read The Open Veins of Latin America before even trying to send me a political ask. Mandatory reading.
It's a cliché that every Latin American leftist has read it and quotes it, but that's because it's written in such a clear language with undeniable strenght on its facts. It presents the history of Latin America solidly just in the first few pages, and it only gets more engrossing the more it goes on. While it is now a bit outdated in the sense that it was first published in 1971, the historical, social and political issues presented are -in an unfortunate way- still current. It is a relatively short book, passionate and in a clear, poetic language.
Sometimes it's good to return to the basics, and this is THE basic book if you want to understand the effects of imperialism in Latin America, and our struggle for freedom and identity.
Instead of losing your time with half baked twitteroid takes, go read it. Here you go, for free, in Spanish, Portuguese and English:
yeah I'm an airship mechanic. I got that big ass wrench and the boots that are too big, but also, and this is important, goggles I do not use correctly

There are a million posts telling you its okay not to voice train but zero posts saying that you did a really good job voice training and that it was worth the effort and that you deserve recognition for working so hard to get what you want.
Idk I start to get this sense lately that a lot of girls don't want to voice train or learn how to do their hair or makeup because they don't see the light at the end of the tunnel and are shamed from every angle for wanting to engage with femininity in the way our common culture does. The way every other woman is allowed to.
I loved my gf's voice before she ever "trained it" but now she sounds like herself and I'm very proud of her. Its important to experience recognition in your progress.
Yeah its nice to be reminded that people still like you if you don't do anything but ya know trans women never hear? Ever? That people will still like you if you do it all. A million posts telling you to do nothing and its still beautiful but the reality is you lose people for transitioning, you get judged every step of the way and I honestly think its a lot more meaningful to praise progress rather than affirm the same ideas every cishet person would that you don't have to do anything and in fact you shouldn't. Which is the vibe online lately.
Death to the American ruling class and its empire. Solidarity to the Venezuelan people.
