Watching 8x21 and was reminded that Cas tried to stop/rebelled after the Plagues of Egypt. And you wanna make me believe “he cared about the whole world because of [Dean]” yeah ok.
And don't get me wrong, this is coming from a very rabid Destiel enjoyer, btw, I just…deeply hate the implication of some of Cas’ big 15x18 speech, which is that Cas’ love of humanity revolves around Dean and Dean alone when like no! That’s precisely the point, actually! That’s the thing they already always had in common! That’s what Dean recognized and appealed to in Cas—even though Cas couldn’t recognize it in himself at the time, perhaps—when trying to get him to do the right thing, and that’s what Cas fell in love with in Dean in the first place!!!!
I mean, what you absolutely could say is that Dean helped bring him back to that part of himself and gave him a whole new insight into what being human means, but that care was always there under the conditioning from the beginning! Their bond and love was built on the repeated choosing of empathy and doing right by others and each other and their stupid little fucking family over the easier choice + the ability to bring each other back from the brink of careless monstrosity, not the other way around!!! Aaaaaa!!!

am kind of stalling in my current video edit projects (mostly due to a lack of free time to get what I would like to done, unfortunately) but it got me thinking how I need to break out of my current mold -> how it would be kinda cool to do an ask game of sorts where people send in a prompt (which could be a word or or a snippet of a song or a scene or line or literally anything else) and I’d try to riff a short vid off of it?
now obviously I do think this wouldn’t be a quick turnaround nor at all as achievable as I’m imagining it lol, but it’d just be nice to get some different gears turning, y'know?
anyway just a thought but if anyone is at any point interested in slinging some words etc. at me to hopefully get more of these guys going! the ask box is always open 🎞️
