Introducing…Toybox AU!
🪁 I’m also opening my inbox again, so please ask questions or send me ideas for this au if you have any! (And of course normal asks, requests, or whatever else is welcome too!)
🪁 A little while back I drew both Spamton and Tenna cursed to be puppets together and a bunch of people wanted me to expand on it, so I just made a whole new AU! Get ready for a really big post. I have so many ideas….
🪁 I’ve seen people draw up different ideas for an au like this (I’ve seen a Toy!au and a Toymaker!au), so I hope this won’t encroach on any of those AUs, I don’t know them very well. Though I might draw all the toy AUs together for the fun of having similar aesthetics. 🤭💜🩵💜🩵
🛝 A furthermore on Tenna: His body, his world, and his job have all changed so drastically so quickly that he has deluded himself into thinking, for the sake of his own peace of mind, that he’s taking on this burden from Spamton. Despite the tug of a benefactor’s strings always there to keep his agency in check, he hopes beyond hope that maybe Spamton really is out there living well, living free. All of this is to say, he still does interact all the time with his hand puppet as though it is Spamton, and he often desperately wishes that it really is Spamton, but he’s active so rarely and only when it’s alone with Tenna that the cathode starts to truly believe his crew that his puppet’s short lived bouts of life are really nothing but figments of his imagination. It would be thrilling to know he’s seeing him again, yes, but far too devastating a notion to realize he’s been indisposed like this—cursed to be nothing more than a hunk of immobile plastic. It would surely break Tenna, as well.
🪁 So perhaps that’s more reason as to why Spamton doesn’t do all that much. He’s crushed by the guilt and limited by his new stiff plastic body. Even in times he’s not trapped within it like a coffin, how could he bring himself to “appear,” so to speak, and ruin Tenna’s bubbly mood? So he truly becomes nothing more than a simple puppet after all.
