Obsidian One I first discovered this album in a used CD store, already owning 'Sounds of the Animal Kingdom' and 'Extreme Conditions'. I also had a low-quality VHS tape of the 'Godplayer' video that I watched numerous times, so hearing this track in proper CD quality made the album an instant buy. Brutal Truth is the kind of band I usually enjoy in doses — a couple tracks here and there rather than full albums — and that's also the case with Need to Control, with 'Godplayer' as the standout track for me. Favorite track: Godplayer.

thomasw_ This is a punk LP, in both feel and tonality (with a cover of the Germs' "Media Blitz") yet it hasn't lost the spirit of grindcore, of loving messy, simple, brutal music. There are some well-done noise tracks complementing the LP rather than only separate songs. This LP crushes their first; where the first was flat speed rock, this is daring, and very punk. The overall speed is not as consistently high, nor is it as fast, but speed is used where needed with cheer and precision. Killer grind! Favorite track: Displacement.
