Hi there folks!

My many years of internet sprawling has finally led me here. I had no idea in mind when I made this blog, so it might be full of really random things! Most likely a lot of my art and whatever weird stuff I come up with.

If you have no idea who I am, here’s some quick facts about me:
I like anime, video games, comics/manga, horror/sci-fi/fantasy and the colour green!

I'm still deep in the trenches of writing this comic, so it's gonna be a while before I start creating chapters. To save my sanity, I've been making practice panels to nail down certain design choices. I also need to practice drawing these two together cause, ya know, they're like the main characters or something lol

DEBT RECKONING will also be a fully coloured comic! As much as I love screen tones and hatching, my heart yearns for flashy colours and dramatic lighting. It might make the comic process longer, but I would much rather maintain this quality of art throughout comic than post chapters I didn't put my heart into.

Is this a soft launch? Perchance.

I stumbled upon an old short story of mine. I read it and something sparked in my brain. So I’ve been exploring this idea with some writing and art. What started as an exercise in character design has spiralled into a whole world and narrative.

It’ll be a comic! Oh yes, pages upon pages of gloriously coloured pages! The first chapter is still a hop, skip and a leap of faith away from being drawn. The writing though, it’s getting close to something tangible.

I’ll be posting it to the dedicated tumblr page. To be frank, I don’t trust Webtoon and other similar webcomic sites. There is a site I’ve had my eyes on for a bit, and they recently met their kickstarter goal, so hopefully one day DEBT RECKONING might be on Comix Cleric (but that’s for future me to worry about lmao)

If you folks like the oh-so beaten to death angel and demon trope, swanky suits, busting kneecaps and the incomprehensible consequences of killing an otherworldly deity- jump right in!

Stories Are Meant For Two

A story by itself can be good or great, but it can only be made perfect when seen by the right audience because, until then, it is incomplete.

Stories are dialogues. They are meant to touch a reader, or a watcher, or a player, to change them or the way they see the world. They are meant to be perceived and interpreted. They are meant to enable two people, who are in different places, who are in different times, to reach out and understand each other, and to be understood in turn, perhaps in a way that wouldn't have been possible in the original place and time of the writing.

So, just as a meal isn't finished until it is eaten, a story is not until it has been seen.

Artist Vs. Art 2025

I’m creeping onto 15 years of digital art in a year or two and I’m just amazed that this is something I’ve stuck with for so long. There were times in the last decade that almost made me give up on art, but I always managed to make at least something every year. 2020/2021 was a particularly bad time for me (dare I say the whole world would agree lol), it was the closest I had been to seriously putting down the pencil.

I let 2021 pass and tried to be nicer to myself in 2022. I was bumbling around for that year aimlessly, rolling into 2023. Still kinda reeling from the last 2 years, I figured I’d try to put myself out there and try and find communities I could join. I had just started getting back into fanart again and making a small social media presence for myself. Come the middle of 2023, I stumbled upon a post made by a pixel artist I had followed for years, talking about just the thing I was looking for.

Well, you know the rest. I yap enough all over the internet that you can find my musings just about anywhere. I’m feeling very sentimental these holidays. The realisation that these artist communities and fandoms are a part of my daily routine struck me the other day. We may not know each other personally, we’re all from all the corners of the world; but communities like these help me stay grounded. If you had told mid-pandemic me that I’d be where I am right now, making video games, meeting like-minded people, participating in global art events, finally learning how to draw a background (lol), I would have just laughed.

Despite my positive demeanour, I’m a huge pessimist and usually my own biggest critique and hater. I’ve had a lot of personal loss in the last 10 years, it’s made me a bit cynical. The last few years have taught me to be softer and nicer to myself.

I love community and creativity and I love the people who make those things special. Happy holidays and end of year folks^^ I can’t wait to see what next year has in store for us.
