Today is National Popcorn Day, and we can’t help but think of Purdue graduate Orville Redenbacher (A’1928, HDR A’88), also known as the “Popcorn King.”
Orville Redenbacher’s Gourmet Popping Corn has been a household staple since 1970 when Redenbacher and his partner Charles Bowman entered the gourmet popcorn business with Marshall Field & Co. in Chicago as their first customer. Since then, Boilermakers everywhere have enjoyed this buttery movie theater snack!
