Theme is such an important concept when teaching reading. Students are asked to determine the theme of a text over and over again. However, many students struggle with how to identify the theme. This resource is a two-page visual notes sheet that will teach students the basics of cellular respiration. Students will color and analyze a graphic model of a mitochondrion. Emphasis is on understanding that during cellular respiration, glucose molecules combine with oxygen to produce carbon dioxide and water, which releases energy.
