who else has fantasized about the Nutrient Brick

Fun fact: No. You would not enjoy that

It's also basically a denser version of what they use to demoralize prisoners sooo make of that what you will

the way that pirating is described as the "hard mode" alternative to streaming platforms its ridiculous. you can pay for one single vpn and have safe & easy access to any show, movie, music, game, etc. for that one price instead of paying for each individually.

you are being stolen from if you are not stealing in the modern day. download the car you idiot.

Anonymous asked:

Pale beings and higher beings are related, but separate things. A higher being is just something with a greater mind that can manipulate things around them, but a pale being has both that, and the ability to produce soul, in exchange for much less raw power, but the ability to focus as well.

This is coming from the 'charms are actually crystallized crests' theory person, by the way.

Anyways, the evidence for this comes from all the pale beings we see in game:

  • Grand Mother Silk
  • The Weavers
  • Lace, Phantom, and Eva
  • The Pale King
  • The White Lady
  • The Vessels
  • To some extent, Greyroot (I'll get back to this later)
  • Hornet
  • Silkflies
  • Whatever a sylphean slug is supposed to be.
  • Pale ore is maybe hardened, fossilized shells of pale beings (I'm grasping at straws here)

What all of these have in common is that they can seemingly:

  • Manipulate soul/silk
  • Interact with crests and charms
  • Focus/Bind (Most of them at least)
  • Much more frail than other pale beings (the vessels are an exception, they got beefed up by the Void)

Now, Pale Beings are the only ones we ever see binding or focusing, save for the bugs of the Soul Sanctum. But the issue with doing that is that your crest needs to be malleable; for a pale being, adding on a crest isn't too difficult; soul is just a portion of that living being. But since a normal bug doesn't have the power to change their crests, it usually kills them or turns them into an incoherent blob. So to focus, expanding the mind was necessary, to expand the crest naturally so it's possible to resist the damage to your crest from binding and focusing. This is why the Soul Sanctum is such folly; the bugs there were trying to become immortal, but the only way to do that (in that specific method) was to ascend to godhood through the usage of Soul.

The other thing we see is charms; which, with the idea they are crests, means that there's a few things we see:

  • Defender's Crest was made by the Pale King; and a charm can only be made without death through intervention of a god, or a living being becoming very successful (e.g, the thorns in Greenpath).
  • Defender's Crest seemingly matches the state of Ogrim.
  • Defender's Crest only interacts with charms that directly interact with Soul.
  • It's called Defender's CREST.

Pale Beings also seemingly can only have children via fusion of a crest; Kingsoul is just the result of the union of two pale beings, and when it turns into Voidheart, that's the remnants of the old crest becoming the new crest; the vessels become individuals, not just what their parents made them, and they gain their own crests because of the results (the void is there too, it's a part of their identities now). Greyroot, I imagine, is a 'tarnished' pale being, possibly some root being that got desperate and fused with an ordinary bug instead. That's why she chooses Hornet; she knows she can regain her former glory by fusing with the pale being atop Pharloom and take GMS's place, but isn't powerful enough on her own. This is also why the weavers couldn't have children; GMS only made daughters, and there were no other eligible pale beings in Pharloom, which was probably on purpose.

In the case of a woven being, that was the attempt to form a new crest, and being, solely using the infinite soul a Pale Being has, rather than fusing two crests to make a new one. This is nearly impossible; Eva had to presumably be enhanced with some slyph stuff to stay alive (from an actual pale being), Phantom didn't have a silk heart to keep her strong and continuously weave more soul, and Lace was... functional, but frail, and needs support from another Pale Being to stay alive, to some function.

Closing note, Lace can conduct Silkflies with song, showing some level of crest manipulation, though nowhere near the level Eva can do it with her own song.

Salubra is a pale being, no I will not elaborate

Woman who calls you gross for letting it slip you like bigger women.

...And the next time you see her she's put on 20 pounds.

Ok so it's clear to me that some of y'all are having issues with this video. As someone who understands breed specific behaviors and dog body language this shit is objectively hilarious to me. Lemme explain why:

Beagles are a very vocal breed. They are hound dogs, specifically hunters, so their job is to communicate and be extra loud when excited or a "treat" is found.

Due to their nature as hounds, and in part genetically predisposed health issues, they get fat often. They're prone to eat too much and need exercise. Old beagles tend to get over weight.

This dog is not biting, frustrated, or aggressive. He's wagging his tail, licking his owner, and engaging in hunting behaviors (barking, sniffing, pointing, and nipping.) This dog is trying to catch his treat. He's working for his reward.

TLDR: The dog is having fun. Don't take it seriously. Using a crunchy mic with a beagle makes his barking sound so funny. Enjoy the humor.

maybe i like it when a female character is deeply flawed and responsible for countless deaths and so on and so forth. more female characters should be deeply flawed and responsible for countless deaths
