  • Happy New year! Start the year off with a good deed! It has been a difficult year but we survived it, though Aya and her family need your help more than ever.

Donations have become stagnant and the winter has been harsh. Aya and her daughter have recently gotten injured and Aya herself needs an $800 treatment.

They are barely surviving and it’s by God will that they are able to survive another day.

Please donate and share! Thank you

Do you know what I find mildly amusing about Gender bent versions of Cloud? And please don’t think this is a criticism because it’s not at all.

But every time I see female!Cloud art, she’s always got long hair and a large chest. Which is fine, but also I kinda have a very specific version of Fem!Cloud in my head and it’s very similar to male Cloud really, just a difference of what they were assigned at birth.

So image Cloud as a little girl who Claudia puts in a nice sundress on a hot day, only for Cloud to get mud all over it and manage to rip it. She’s upset because mama made it but also dresses are stupid for climbing trees in. So Cloud wears comfy shorts and a T’shirt to play in.

Cloud as a teen in the military still cutting her hair and actually really digging the short style. She’s never really thought about her hair before. Mama did it and Cloud sat still for it and liked it when it was done, but the short looks good and is easy to keep on top of.

Cloud never getting past an A cup and she’s… mostly fine with that. Aside from some of the idiot guys in her unit joking that she’s a washboard, she’s kind of relieved that she doesn’t have to contend with boob sweat and bra chafing and sports bras trying to break her ribs as much as some of the other infantry women do.

Cloud whose casual outfits are kind of similar to Tifa’s in the fact that she likes clothes that give her a range of motion so she can fight better. If she’s going out then yeah maybe she’ll wear a dress, and maybe she’ll go pretty over sexy but she’s also comfortable in big jeans and men’s T’shirts.

Cloud who’s comfortable in her body actually, and just because everyone else keeps calling her a lesbian or a a range of homophobic, transphobic, misogynistic slurs doesn’t change that. Yeah okay she’s what some people might refer to as a bit “masc” but why the fuck does anyone care so much?

Does she like girls? Yeah she does.

Does she like guys? Yeah she does.

Does her hairs style and clothing have ANY baring on her sexuality whatsoever? No. No it doesn’t. She’s just cloud. And fem!Cloud is basically the same as Male!Cloud just with a different chromosome and a slightly higher vocal register.

The evil in Minnesota is entirely American. It needs no propagandistic comparison to ‘oriental’ regimes abroad or whoever happens to be the 'barbaric’ enemy of the day. ICE’s inhumanity and cowardice is that of a state born out of slave plantations and the indian-hater’s rifle.

It’s bullshit too. See how it’s not hard to say? I also condemn Islamophobia and anti-Palestinian targeting pretty regularly! Funny how some of us can condemn racism and dehumanization across the board but a sure lot of people seem to get tripped up over that. — Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) January 10, 2026ALT

    lol

Nobody has mentioned it yet, but the Shul that was protested last night in Queens was hosting a real estate event. They were selling stolen Palestinian land.

That’s a pretty big detail that would seriously change the optics here if true

They were protesting the Tivuch Shelly real estate agency, if you check their site:

this is the white devil profiting off of the displacement of Palestinians.

AOC is such a fucking hypocrite here to paint Palestinian protests as antisemitism. You can’t both sides the issue when it’s very clear one side is and has been going through genocide and displacement. Both-siding the issue doesn’t make her a saint; it makes her a snake.

For years, Japan tried to keep their existence a secret. But the Ainu people refuse to disappear

    abc.net.au

As a young boy in school, Masaki Sashima would be dragged out of his classroom and beaten by his fellow students.

Masaki, now 72, was different to the other kids.

He was Ainu, an Indigenous people from the country’s northern regions, most notably the large island of Hokkaido.

“During recess, the hallway door would open, and several guys would yell at me to come out,” he said.

“I clung to my desk in the classroom and kept quiet.

"Everyone would surround me and beat me.”

Japan has long portrayed itself as culturally and ethnically homogenous, something that some have even argued is a key to its success as a nation.

More than 98 per cent of Japanese people are descendants of the Yamato people.

But the Ainu are distinct, with their own history, languages, and culture.

But, as the victims of colonialism, assimilation, and discrimination, much of that identity has been lost.

An Ainu woman named Chiri Yukie wrote down some of her people’s oral traditions into Japanese because, as a child, her people were being displaced by Japanese settlers in Hokkaido. Her language was disappearing, so she (ironically) saw translating the stories into Japanese as a way to preserve them. She died at age 19.

Some of the objects from the Ainu exhibition at Japan House in London this year, showcasing traditional Ainu skills and culture. There is a campaign to get Ainu recognised as an official language, at least in Hokkaido, and small steps are happening, for example, bilingual bus stops. It reminds me of the struggle for Welsh to be revived after suppression for centuries.

    How to Fix Underwriting

    1. Slow down at emotionally important moments.

Big emotions need space to land. If a scene feels rushed, pause the plot briefly to show how the moment affects the character.

    2. Add reactions, not explanations.

Instead of explaining what a character feels, show it through physical responses, hesitation, or small actions that reveal emotion naturally.

    3. Ground every scene in the senses.

If a scene feels thin, add one or two sensory details—sound, texture, smell, or temperature—to make the moment feel lived-in.

    4. Let thoughts interrupt action.

A line of internal thought can deepen a scene without slowing it too much. Thoughts show stakes, fear, longing, or conflict beneath the action.

    5. Expand consequences, not events.

You don’t need more things to happen—you need to show what matters. Focus on how events change relationships, decisions, or self-perception.

    6. Strengthen setting where emotion peaks.

The environment should echo or contrast the emotion of the scene. Setting is not decoration—it’s emotional reinforcement.

    7. Add specific details instead of general ones.

Underwriting often relies on vague language. Swap “they argued” for one sharp line of dialogue or a specific breaking point.

    8. Let dialogue breathe.

Short dialogue exchanges without pauses can feel flat. Add beats—silence, gestures, interruptions—to give the conversation weight.

    9. Show transitions between scenes.

If scenes jump too quickly, readers feel disoriented. A brief transition helps establish time, mood, and emotional continuity.

    10. Clarify stakes early in the scene.

If readers don’t know what can be lost, scenes feel empty. Make sure the character wants something specific and fears losing it.

    11. Use the “what are they feeling right now?” check.

After each major beat, ask what emotion is dominant in that moment. If it’s missing on the page, the scene is likely underwritten.

    12. Expand scenes that feel “too clean.”

If a scene resolves too neatly or quickly, it probably needs more tension. Messy emotions and unresolved feelings add depth.

    bestangelofall-deactivated20250:

Imagine if Bruce finds this little diary/series of reports in Jason’s things (invasion of privacy for a righteous purpose you understand) and there are various descriptions of different methods for killing, with various dates that he appears to have applied said methods, and some of them are recent (and supposedly Jason hasn’t been killing) BUT it turns out that it was just Immortal Jason trying different methods to kill himself, and none of them work.

I was reading Elektra 1996 and there’s this arc about some guy trying to get himself killed (it wasn’t very clear to me why he couldn’t die, and why it would work if Elektra killed him, but that’s beside the point) and now I’m imagining Jason pestering different magic users to try and find out what the fuck is wrong with him that he can’t die.

When confronted Jason tells the truth (he usually does) and Bruce 100% doesn’t believe him. Beats the shit out of him, leaves him in an abandoned warehouse. Jason, bleeding, lies there for a long time then sighs, sits up, takes out a little notebook, and makes a few marks on a page.
