There's more than just the Honey scandal that I'm concerned about, like PayPal making things harder for ARTISTS—in general, not just NSFW artists—from using PayPal's services

MegaLag has exposed it as a downright scam to consumers & creators alike

The gist is that Honey steals the affiliate link to any products you buy online, even if the app never finds any coupons. Because of its aggressive advertising on YouTube & beyond, we're looking at millions of dollars in damages!

You're better off clicking on affiliate links without using any coupon apps.

Also, LegalEagle is filing a class action lawsuit against PayPal Honey over this:

I would boycott apps & extensions like Honey, Karma, Capital One Shopping, and Pie because of this shady behavior

Do NOT use those apps. Delete them right now, it's that easy.

That’s why people think fictional women being frequently ignored is a form of misogyny

our family house where my grandmother lives has burned down last night and she's without a home now. every sentimental thing there is gone, everyone is thankfully safe without any casualties but hers is completely destroyed. the fire department got to the location way too late. my grandmother isn't in her best condition right now and needs constant care and support especially since she's now becoming senile as of late. rebuilding the house isn't our priority right now but getting the necessary things like food, clothes and medicine for her is more important at the time being because the ones that were stored away in the house also got ruined by the fire. the other house next door where i actually live with my parents and brother is intact but it's not exactly enough considering it's built for four people specifically, the destroyed house was larger and housed a few more of my relatives.

if you're able to, i have indefinitely opened some of my commissions, so please consider that too when you can! it's all just to replace some of the important belongings. we have some spare clothes to give but they're only a few pieces compared to the amount she owned.

as of posting this i'm still travelling back home from the trip i took so i can't respond to messages often until i get back, but i'll be diligently working on any of your commission requests as fast as i'm able to.

my vgen is here. i'm embarrassed to be making a post like this but this is unfortunately a horrific thing that happened in a blink of an eye to us.

Here's a summary of the Serious stream I hosted last night:

Hello chat! Here’s what I talked about last night during my serious stream: • The compounding news of tariffs, demonization of transgender folks, and increasing hostility in my home state (and beyond) made it difficult to draw stuff lately, thereby prolonging my already terrible art block. • I still have two commissions on deck that I’m making for friends. I will continue to keep in touch with them! • On top of that, I came out as trans to my sister, who I thought I could trust, but she struggled to accept it. Worse yet, she exhibited views and uttered pointed language that are very routine transphobia. I came out of the conversation frustrated and upset at her. • Note: My sister is a low-key conservative, so even though I don’t know how her views turned against the LGBTQ+ community, I could theorize all day about it, but I know that I cannot risk talking about that community to her at minimum. • I have my mom, her fiancé, and a trans cousin to talk to when I need it. All three of them are accepting of my decisions. • I was already planning to move out of the country, so I will still take action on that in 2026.ALT
And now for some developing news: • I wrote a letter to my sister to explain why the transphobic language she used was hurtful to me. • Her response amounts to an “agree to disagree” arrangement: “We should accept that we’re not in agreement and have different views.” • However, she doesn’t want this difference in opinion to ruin our familial relationship. Despite her good intentions, I’m afraid I cannot trust her word on this. • I will still make plans to move out to an apartment until I immigrate.ALT

TL;DR - My sister is a low-key transphobe & doesn't see eye to eye with me on my gender transition plans, so I'll have to seek temporary housing to distance myself from her

Here's the conclusion I'm drawing from this:

My sister apologized for saying things that were hurtful to me, but when I expressed my concern about feeling unsafe around her, her response was, "I don't understand why you would feel unsafe around me." Also, disagreeing with something integral to my identity does not instill confidence.

Based on what my trans-accepting friends are telling me, my sister's low-key transphobia could likely escalate no matter what I do. My sister does not intend to make herself out as the enemy, but what else could you do about someone who disagrees with the transgender way of life?? Sure, she's not being outright hostile right now, but the early signs she's giving is making me feel uncomfortable.

Final thoughts

Final thoughts: • My sister and I came to a truce. We will not talk about my gender identity again, as long as we share the same household. We at least wanted to break the tension between us, and this whole situation that unfolded six days ago was stressing us both out. • My sister needs time to think it over, but I’m hoping she DOES think about it rather than forget this situation ever happened. • I don’t like how I’m effectively throwing myself back in the closet around my sister, but I still have my mom and cousin to talk to. • I initially set up a GoFundMe to cover apartment expenses, but doing that, along with making plans to move out to temporary housing, was done at a time when I was emotionally vulnerable & was not thinking straight. • I have since closed the GoFundMe for the time being and refunded the few contributors who pitched into the campaign. • It was irresponsible of me to set up a crowdfunding campaign without concrete plans set in motion, so next time I will only do this again when I KNOW FOR CERTAIN that my financial danger is tangible.ALT

I’m walking back on my decision to seek temporary housing, but I will still consider plans to move out of the country in 2026. Being put back in the closet around her is not ideal, to kind of pretend this situation didn’t happen, but I wanted to break the tension between my sister and I.
