I have to pay my car note and my cat is still at the pet hospital. It's $50 a day not including the treatment and I can finally pick her up today. The price they gave me is $637. Please. My gas is still off and the weather is cooling down and that's my form of heating. Also I'm diabetic and can't cook without gas either. Rent is also due in a couple days.

everytime i see someone promoting crisis lines i just remember the times both a suicide hotline and a domestic violence hotline hung up on me lmao
to elaborate on this further why i despise crisis lines:
suicide hotline operator told me to go check myself into the psych ward. i explained i cant do that because im living paycheck to paycheck and had this wild idea that maybe coming out of the psych ward afterwards and now being homeless wasnt gonna be helpful to my mental health actually. they got bitchy and said "i cant help you if you dont want to help yourself" and hung up
domestic violence operator told me to go to a battered womens shelter, informed me they only had 12 day stays before you had to leave and asked me if i had somewhere to go afterwards. i said no. she said "than why did you call the hotline" and i was completely speechless. she went on to berate me because i didnt want to lose literally everything i owned because starting your entire life over from scratch is fucking HARD and told me then it must not be that bad. this was something i had heard from cops already 100 times. and then she hung up on me.

to add to this, I feel like there has been a huge emphasis on NOT asking your friends for help because ohhh it's sooo bad to rely on others or have other people deal with your emotions. or whatever. but in reality they are your best bet and your friends would agree that it would be well worth the trouble to be there for you. even if it's heavy, even if it's hard, even if in reality you can't physically do much. it's still always a step above crisis lines.
if you're having a hard time, please message a friend you can trust. if you know someone who might be having a hard time, check on them. if they say they're alright? ask twice. make sure they're okay.
no, your friends aren't your therapists, but your friends ARE your friends, and you should rely on them when you need to, even if its messy and socially unacceptable. we did not get anywhere as a race by relying on ourselves, we relied on each other. go talk to your friends right now
on the "gazavetters" situation
For those unaware, the blog "gazavetters" which claimed to be run by legitimate Gazans on the ground and was verifying Gazan fundraisers, has been purged and a vague message was left on the blog seemingly discrediting vetting as a whole.
Myself and the team in @gaza-evacuation-funds are not associated with them and we never have been.
Their message is too vague to say what the actual intent behind it is, as it is written by ESL speakers. It seems to be criticizing the vetting practice rather than the fundraisers themselves but zionists will hear what they want to hear. The message is currently being co-opted by the racist and cruel "all Gazans are scammers" gang because of the vague nature of the message. Do Not be drawn in by that or fall into their racist trap.
Unfortunately it is hard to say the damage this vague message has done to many possibly legitimate fundraisers on the gazavetters list, as their legitimacy is now up in the air, in addition to every other gazan on tumblr fundraising for their families.
Though we are incredibly disappointed and puzzled by how things have been handled by gazavetters, we are investigating what happened there because we are commited to legitimate gazan fundraisers and deserving people continuing to get the support that they need.
Regardless of our findings, it is a reality that we may not be able to re-verify every single family on their list. And all we can offer is to try and shed more light on the situation. And unfortunate as it is that many families' legitimacy was harmed, we can't be held responsible for the actions of others.
Please avoid reblogging fundraisers vetted by gazavetters for the time being until we are able to confirm whether we can still consider these fundraisers as legitimate.
So my only update is what has already been posted by gazavetters. I can also say that the gazavetters fundraisers still are reliable and the list has been reposted.
This is their list and as far as I understand, they will no longer be updating it.
I've archived this list on my end in case it ever goes down again.

I feel like I’ve done all I can do here
looking back on how liberal political analysts talked about donald trump during his 2016 campaign, I notice two very important insights that have vanished from the conversation this time around.
1: the dire warnings about the rise of fascism were really centered on trump's followers, not the man himself. what concerned scholars of fascism in particular was that the already well-established neonazi presence in the US was openly rallying around a presidential candidate. trump's campaign emboldened neonazis, but the neonazis were already there — this is why we saw an astronomical rise in hate crimes against many marginalized groups during trump's campaign, before he was elected. trump himself was understood as an opportunist riding the wave of rising fascist sentiment — the wave itself was a bigger concern than the surfer. trump was replaceable. liberals now seem to have forgotten that trump's followers won't disappear if harris wins. the heritage foundation (originators of 'project 2025,' blue maga's favorite boogeyman) won't disappear if harris wins. extreme right politicians — many of whom I would argue are even further right than trump, and more embedded in the establishment — won't disappear. even if you mistakenly see the republican party as the sole provenance of usamerican fascism, republicans won't disappear if harris is elected.
2: the people centered in the crosshairs of trump's agenda were migrants and asylum seekers; chiefly those from south of the US border and from majority muslim countries. the intensified demonization of these groups led analysts to draw parallels with fascist parties that were on the rise in europe. hatred of migrants and muslims is indisputably the primary driver of 21st century fascism, from the UK to India. so tell me why the conversation in the US has shifted to revolve around white trans people? yes, trump supporters are obviously transphobic, but you have to trace this particular manifestation of transphobia to its source, which still comes down to white supremacy and anti-migrant sentiment. when you actually look at the way fascists talk about trans people, it all comes back to the idea that hostile foreign elements invading the country have degraded white christian values. trans people of color have already been targeted for a long time, because we're seen as a sort of vanguard of non-white perversion; this isn't new to us. white trans people are now experiencing increased persecution because transness is seen as infiltrating white families/communities and corrupting their whiteness. I'm not saying we shouldn't talk about the rise of transphobic policies; of course we should. what disturbs me is that anti-migrant sentiment has been shunted to the sidelines of discussions of 'trumpism,' when it is still very much the center of his platform. and that's the part of his platform that the harris campaign has adopted to try and pull voters from him! that's the part of the republican platform that the biden administration advanced with the excuse of 'reaching across the aisle.' and what more extreme manifestation of an anti-migrant anti-muslim platform is there than committing genocide in gaza and then refusing to let gazan asylum seekers (or even gazans with US citizenship!) into the US?
the entire US government, red and blue, is unified around the anti-migrant, white supremacist crux of so-called 'trumpism.' large swathes of the american public, whether they vote red or blue, are enthusiastic about genocidal foreign and domestic policies. none of this stops when trump is gone
